Sleepy Hollow November 11

via press release:

THE FOLLOWING Returns for Thrilling Second Season With

Special Preview Sunday, January 19, and

Season Premiere Monday, January 27

Hit drama SLEEPY HOLLOW will culminate its must-be-seen-to-be-believed first season with a special two-hour season finale event Monday, Jan. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, changing the second season premiere of last season’s No. 1 new series, THE FOLLOWING. The acclaimed thriller starring Kevin Bacon will unveil a special preview Sunday, Jan. 19, immediately after the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00 PM-CC ET), kicking off 15 heart-pounding weeks of uninterrupted episodes. The season premiere of THE FOLLOWING will now air Monday, Jan. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following an encore of the Season Two preview (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

In the first hour of the two-hour SLEEPY HOLLOW season finale event, “The Indispensable Man,” airing Monday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) discover a massive secret buried within the pages of George Washington’s Bible and unearth the shocking true nature of the founding father’s death. Meanwhile, Captain Irving (Orlando Jones) makes a near-impossible decision for the sake of his beloved family that drastically changes his future. Then, in “Bad Blood” (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the battle between good and evil comes to an explosive head – sacrifices must be made, worlds collide, loyalties are tested and the town of Sleepy Hollow will never be the same – resulting in a haunting first season finale.

Created by Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Dawson’s Creek,” the “Scream” franchise) and starring Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kevin Bacon (“X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Frost/Nixon”) and James Purefoy (“Rome”), the special Season Two preview of THE FOLLOWING, entitled “Resurrection” and airing Sunday, Jan. 19, immediately after the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (live, 6:00 PM-CC ET), catches up with RYAN HARDY (Bacon), in the wake of a horrific new murder spree, which furthers his suspicion that JOE CARROLL’s (Purefoy) reign of terror is far from over. The series, which will have its season premiere on Monday, Jan. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) following an encore of the preview episode (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), also stars Shawn Ashmore (the “X-Men” franchise) and Valorie Curry (“Veronica Mars”), and joining the cast this season are Connie Nielsen (“Boss,” “Law & Order: SVU”), Jessica Stroup (“90210”), Sam Underwood (“Dexter”) and Tiffany Boone (“Beautiful Creatures”).

    “Special Preview”

As announced, the special preview is airing one week before the season premiere. So what’s special about this one? Just wondering why it’s called a special preview. I always assume that’s a fancy word for season premiere, but since they say the season premiere will be one week later, then don’t they risk losing viewers on this preview/premiere if people like me believe it’s some sort of a recap and don’t watch? And if it turns out that the special preview is indeed the season premiere, then that would mean the 2nd episode is what they refer to as the season premiere. Gawd, that’s confusing.

  • Hugo

I bet Bones will replace Almost Human in February.

  • iSayso

    Preview = Recap
    Premiere = S2/E1

  • HeadlessHorseman

No, it’s called a preview because its season premiere is after the NFC game and not in its original timeslot.

  • Daley

@Hugo – No, Bones is most likely going to stay on Fridays until the show ends

  • Kate

    TWD is it
Kinda at the expense of SH, but FOX doesnt mind, they must think they have a bigger following in The Following. Though the ratings suggested not.

Actually, the ratings do suggest this.

So 2×01 of The Following will air on 1/19 after the NFC game and 2×02 will air on 1/27? Calling it a special preview is confusing.

  • Refrain

Bones would be a better pairing for The Following. Preferably if you want to pair something you typically pair a stable show with a returning show.

A show like Almost Human with a declining level of viewership makes me nervous when paired with The Following, I actually like The Following and want to see it get a third season, I can’t see how pairing with Almost Human makes sense.

  • a p garcia

This is a bad schedule unless Fox secretly wants to kill off one of their proven series.

  • Dahne

Personally I would rather have more episodes of Sleepy Hollow than watch Dumb and Dumber chase an absurdly smart criminal mastermind with apparently limitless resources, making the Feds look like imbeciles at every turn. No show disappointed me more last yeart than The Following.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Jenna is gonna have a conniption when the ratings improve over last week for the Sleepy Hollow episode tonight.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

    Poor thing.

  • iSayso

Ermahgawd! So many mean broad ship warriors.

  • Bill O’Reilly

Wait a minute. Sleepy Hollow has only shown maybe 7 episodes so far. And is this the Season ending episode that means Season 1, and the Season 2 will start around a month later, or Season in September of 2014. As far as i have seen, this SH just started the season, and it is ending already. What is up at FOX ?
Besides, my wife and I got burned out on this new series, because it wasn’t going anywhere, which is why so many people have stopped watching, just like Dracula.
And we will also tell you, if Supernatural doesn’t get back to what made that series great, then we will stop watching that as well. All this Cass and that other guy, is getting so old. Just go back to what made Supernatural great. The Vampires, ShapeShifters, H.H.Holmes, Wolfman type of episodes. Not this little kid Cas stuff. That has been played out, so played out. My wife agrees, bring back the old type of SN episodes. Hire some new writers. This series can still be shaved, bring in some fresh ideas. Why does TV series always go to some subplot ?
