NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

If the viewers stay the same for Grimm thats the highest since the pilot episode.

Bones was safe before the move. If Angel comes back, it will be back. Never got what people were freaking out about. If anything, it’s gotten some new eyes on the show that weren’t going to find it on a much more competitive Monday (where, like last year, it would be bound to see a few 1.9s itself). With CBS not putting out first run shows, it’s probably gotten some new viewers to check it out.

What I don’t get is the decision to delay Almost Human’s premiere. So quickly after the premiere they went with, you get a sluggish holiday week one week, and then repeat the anchor the next. Not exactly a recipe for success.

It all depends on the sub-demos Almost Human is pulling. Bones may or may not be able to continue 1.6s on Friday once CBS resumes normal programming, but it should still be an improvement over what was there before. If Almost Human gets 18-34 males, it would probably gladly take 1.8s in the total demo.

Now Sleepy Hollow’s yearlong slide? That may be something of a concern. Let’s see how it does when it comes back.

Dracula is getting better, but it may be too late for this

  • Jon

Dracula tied for first! That show has really grown on me and it’s Christian Slater’s best work. I’m still not sure if I want it to continue beyond it’s limited run (I like conclusion) but it’s certainly not an embarrassment.

  • Sarah

    Bones :)

  • Obamacare

Why didn;t you mention Nikita rising in the title?

  • Dillan

    YAY for TCD! :D

  • Five

Good for Dracula. :) Hope it doesn’t adjust down.

  • Dahne

Nice job for everyone. I am especially happy about Grimm. It’s been a great season so far.

  • Percysowner

Lmao at Nikita. but this show and their fans are so pathetic that they are going to celebrate.

Actually there is no reason to celebrate, not celebrate or be pilly about the ratings for Nikita. Nikita is ending. The ratings don’t matter, at all. The fans are getting a wrap up and we don’t have to worry about ratings while we watch.

It is both interesting and sad to note that Nikita matched BATB in the demo and had more actual viewers. Now, the ratings still aren’t good enough for the CW to reconsider canceling the show. They aren’t good enough to gloat over. But we’re not total loons to think Nikita isn’t the weakest show on the CW.

    Go Grimm Go Bones!

  • Ram510

Why didn’t CBS put the Grammy concert on after frosty the snowman?

And why is CBS waiting so late in December to air new episodes of their Tuesday lineup?

  • KC

    LOL @ Bones !!

  • david

wow everything was up last night. I hope The Carrie Diaries and Nikita dow get adjusted down later.

  • HeadlessHorseman

    @KC
Yes, nearly matching Almost Human on Monday is laughable.

  • David

Everything seems to have done decently tonight apart from The Neighbors! Nikita’s in its both final season and Raising Hope’s probably done too, but they still rose. Grimm, Bones and Shark Tank all did amazing!

  • David

    *Nikita’s in its final season

  • TV Addict

Go NBC! Way to get the week sweep! Here’s hoping for an amazing second half of the season!

  • HeadlessHorseman

    @David
Since this wasn’t meant to be its final season, RH did not do decently. It did very poorly actually.

  • tvwatcher

    Grimm did great! :D

    Bones too! :D

    Both episodes were very enjoyable.

Dracula is doing pretty similar to Deception last season, both shows were OK, it will be interesting to see what NBC does with Dracula.
