FIFA WORLD CUP DRAW ON UNIVISION NETWORKS OUTPERFORMS ESPN2 AND REACHES 2.4 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS


 

  • Univision’s broadcast of the World Cup draw  “Sorteo Final de la  Copa Mundial de la FIFA Brasil 2014” (2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Final Draw) live, simulcast on Univision Deportes Network (UDN), reached a combined 2.4 million Total Viewers who tuned into all or part of the broadcast.

 

  • The telecast, which aired on Univision Network and UDN from 10:50 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET on Friday, December 6, 2013, delivered an average of 1.1 million Total Viewers and 562,000 Adults 18-49, outperforming ESPN2’s broadcast of the same event (11:30 a.m. to 1:41 p.m. ET) which delivered an average of 489,000 Total Viewers and 396,000 Adults 18-49.

 

  • The World Cup Draw on Univision on Friday, December 6, 2013 out-delivered ESPN2’s coverage of the same event:

o   Among Total Viewers in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento

o   Among Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento

o   Among Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix and Sacramento

 

  • Regardless of language, Univision Network was the highest rated broadcast station during the World Cup Draw (10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET, live):
    •   Among Total Viewers in Los Angeles
    •   Among Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles and Houston
    •   Among Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Houston

 

  • Compared to the 2009 delivery, the program delivered growth:

o   Among Total Viewers in Dallas, San Francisco and Sacramento

o   Among Adults 18-49 in Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco and Sacramento

o   Among Adults 18-34 in Miami, Chicago and San Francisco

 

  • In social media activity, the World Cup Draw on Univision Network was the No. 1 broadcast program of the day in terms of unique authors, regardless of language, beating The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! (CBS).  Additionally, on the same day, the Univision Network was the No. 2 broadcast network of the day in terms of  unique authors and Tweets, regardless of language, beating NBC, ABC and FOX (Source: SocialGuide).
