TV Ratings Sunday: 'Once Upon a Time' & 'Family Guy' Rise + 'Revenge', 'The Mentalist' & 'The Amazing Race' Flat

 NBC was number one among adults 18-49, and with total viewers. 

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, (Panthers-Saints) earned a preliminary 6.0, up from last week's preliminary 5.4  adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX,  The Simpsons matched the  3.0 adults 18-49 rating it earned two weeks ago. Bob’s Burgers scored a 2.1, up half a ratings point from last week's 1.6 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy notched a 2.6, up four tenths from a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating two weeks ago. American Dad garnered a 2.1, up four tenths from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating

On CBS, 60 Minutes earned a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating down from last week's football inflated 3.9 adults 18-49 rating.The two hour season finale of The Amazing Race matched last week's 2.1  adults 18-49 rating, which is an all-time low for a finale.  The Mentalist was even with last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating when the show aired after primetime.

On ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos garnered a 1.5, up three tenths from last week's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.  Once Upon A Time earned a 2.2, up three tenths from last week’s series low 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too pessimistic! Revenge matched the 1.5 adults 18-49 rating its last original earned on November 17. Betrayal notched a series low tying 0.8, down a tenth from a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating on November 17.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Why people care about Revenge getting renewed just to reach syndication?Soapy and serialized shows doesn’t sell in syndication, doesn’t return money.Besides, Revenge is boring,you can’t blame The Walking Dead for low ratings,even dvr numbers are low.People got tired of Revenge and they’re watching something else.

    I believe that CBS will choose TGW over TM since they own it and it’s critically acclaimed.But you have to count on ratings too.

    Well, Revenge is actually up if compared to the last episode that got a 5,71 or something like that. Revenge will perform better in the next episode, which is half season finale.

    I wouldn’t worry about the show’s future yet. Revenge has a bigger fish to fry.

    I’m not really surprised by revenges even though it didn’t have the walking dead to face ABC barely gave it any promotion to the point where people had no idea that it was on if ABC at least aired like a few promos for it then its ratings would’ve been a little better

    My guess is people are curious about the next step on The Mentalist. Not sure if it will hold up if the show continues to be uninteresting as last night’s episode. It was kind of boring. And, given that Peter killed himself at the end of last night’s Family Guy, does that mean he’s off the show like Brian?

    Ugly Betty was shoot in LA but it was expensive,then ABC move the show to shoot in New York which was cheaper.They can do the same with Nashville too,moving the show to LA.

    @DenverDean- WB might slash fees for the mentalist to keep it another year. Who knows maybe they’ll find a way to keep it and the good wife. It’s not like CSI, elementary, blue bloods or 5-0 are doing amazing.

    @Diana, I saw 3 Revenge promos during ABC’s highest rated drama (Scandal) and several during OUAT. I think that is a Fan Bingo Excuse.

    The same things has been said over and over again:
    Fact: Nikita- serialized show, awful ratings, renewed for season 4
    Fringe- semi serialized show, bad ratings, renewed for season 4 and 5
    Chuck- serialized, bad ratings, renewed for season 5
    It doesn’t matter if it is serialized or not, if it’s about to reach season 4, it will be renewed, FACT!
    Repeats ratings also don’t matter: Fringe got 0.4s for repeats, still got renewed.

    Bad for revenge :( :( :( I was hoping it would rise because of the pre wedding episode, fingers crossed for not adjusting down… Seriously hoping the revenge wedding will go up to 2.0, or the least, higher than now… Fingers crossed…

    I wonder if the Lifetime, A&E and History Channel Bonnie & Clyde crossover event did well. ABC has a 50% ownership stake in each of those cable networks.

    The problem with Revenge is the plot they’re doing.Revenge became too soapy,so silly, so predictable,I loved the show first season,but since season 2 things went down.This season has been awful to watch,the pregnant thing that Emily did to hold Daniel is just stupid and lazy writing.I still watch the show but right now I prefer it cancelled.
