Happy Endings May 2

Cult comedy Happy Endings has found a syndication home on VH1. All fifty seven episodes of the show will air in a marathon on New Year's Eve, per Variety. The show will then air on Wednesdays from 7-9PM beginning January 8 .

    And it got syndication anyway.

    Proof why “88” isn’t required.

  • Jeff (Canada)

I always thought “88” was more of a requirement for broadcast syndication (i.e. shown on something like CW or Fox from 6pm to 8pm), not cable syndication.

By the way, is broadcast syndication considered a “better” form of syndication than cable?

  • Douglas from Brazil

    ABC should bring back.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

    @Jeff (Canada)

Broadcast syndication usually is less money per episode (Big Bang Theory was 1.5 million for TBS, $500,000 for FOX). But they have to pay a little each time they air an episode, while a cable channel does not. Broadcast is in the long run more money

  • Bradley

88 isn’t required, it’s just the amount of episodes that brings a reasonable profit. That’s why networks push for 88. Happy Endings had already been canceled so they weren’t looking to make profitable syndication deals, any deal would do.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! I am so incredibly happy, one of my fav comedies and I’d been waiting for it to come on Netflix but this is good too.

  • Mitch

    is this really news?

Sadly VH1 will play anything but music videos.

i miss this show so much

This show is Firefly 2.0. 10 years from now, people will still be grieving for it to come back.

  • Josh Emerson

I’m so happy the show will be airing somewhere at least. Now we just need VH1 to forget about their awful reality shows and put this back into production! ;)

  • Spencer

Hopefully this show can pull an Arrested Development and come back some other way somehow.
