Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered to a huge 4.7 adults 18-49 rating on September 24, then declined rapidly, hitting a 2.2 on November 13. But for the past two episodes, the show's ratings have been climbing. It garnered a 2.4 on November 20 and a 2.6 on November 27. Will that upward trajectory continue for the show's midseason finale tonight? Make your prediction, then argue your reasoning in the comments.

2.2 – back to your low you go, loser.

    Went with 2.3-2.4

Victoria’s secret will win the 10:00 slot by a bit

The show’s numbers should improve even more. The past few weeks they(the shows) have been better, and the writing has improved. It does have potential.

J August Richards( Gunn from Angel) will be back on tonite. He may be the savior of Shield, but I will be watching The Originals which is AWESOME. Great action and characters. Ratings will be 2.5 for Shield

  • Networkman

Since Brooklyn Nine-Nine will not be airing tonight, I will be giving Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D another try. I really want to see if it has improved since the beginning of the season. I’ll predict 2.7. I think this episode was nicely promoted by ABC.

    I would say around a 2.2 18-49, 7 million ish viewers.

This is not *Joss* Whedon, it is *Jed* Whedon. His brother just chipped in some cash (which is why he is credited as an E.P.), and helped with the pilot (writing/directing). He is there in spirit, and I am sure that if his brother runs into a roadblock, he can call him for help, but the day-to-day show running is Jed (which is why he is credited as such).

That is why this aired so high (we thought Joss was more involved) and has fallen so far, so fast. It has shown some minor signs of improvement lately, but nothing to get too excited over. The weakest episodes are the ones Jed co-writes, and this episode does not have his name on it. If it fails to deliver any meaningful development, and just introduces red-shirts to kill-off, this show will be in real danger.

Who Freaking cares!!!!!! hate everything on ABC!!!

I predict a 0.1 for at least one of the iHeart Radio repeats on The CW.

I will go with 2.7 for Agents of SHIELD because the cliffhanger was acceptable. Hopefully Raini will force Coulsen to tell viewers what happened to him in the days after his death. I don’t expect the complete answer will be revealed in one episode but clues should be provided.

  • Zsasquared

    I’ll go for a 2.4.

Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen are the only reasons I still watch this, and it’s a pity they are saddled with a lame, forgettable supporting cast like that whiny hacker, the wooden other agent, and the two annoying science chatterboxes.

Bring on other Agents and get rid of these four, please.

    SHIELD did a 2.0.

    The Goldbergs did a 1.7.

    Trophy Wife did a 1.2.

    Biggest Loser did a 1.9.

    The Voice did a 3.1.

    Victoria Secret did a 3.4.

    Country Awards did a 1.4.

    Yup, AoS got 2.0 :(

  • Galinthebiz

    Shield 2.0/1.9

S.H.E.I.L.D. isn’t a normal show. It’s going to get a lot more chances to re-tool than most shows of its type because it’s part of a broad marketing package for Disney’s Marvel holdings.

Those predicting two and done are confusing this show with something like Jericho or Revolution. It’s not just about the ratings, it’s about trying to create something to feed Marvel devotees between films to keep them invested in the franchise.

That doesn’t mean that 2.0 in the demo is going to keep this production team on the job, though. They’ll likely fire or side-line Jed and give someone else entirely a shot at the helm before they even consider cancellation.
