Congrats to Y&R for 25 years at number one. It is still winning in total viewers by a landslide.

  • Derrick

    Congrats Y&R

  • Jeff

Good for YR, but sad they can’t let GH have the well-deserved ratings spotlight for one week without manufacturing a press release with some “good ratings news”. That must be JFP’s bruised ego since she practically buried GH 6ft under herself, and now FV came in brought it roaring back to life.

  • David

Yeah, only now it’s 1st of three, right?

  • Mike

Yesssssss I’m glad it’s up in total viewers

  • Bart

GO “Y & R”!! The only soap I’ve ever watched and have been watching since January of 1981!!

  • moshane58

Congrats to Y&R and its fans…

  • Mike

    Congrats Y&R!!!!!

I never get why there has to be jabs between the shows. Geesh we only have 4 left. I think it is wonderful that all 3 networks had something to brag about this week.

People preach all the time about keeping things positive. The one week 3 of the 4 shows have something to brag about people still can’t keep from throwing the jabs.

  • Ally

I watch both Y&R and GH. I’ve watched GH much longer so I have a soft spot for it, but I enjoy Y&R too. Both shows have improved over last year, but GH’s improvement was greater.

  • Jeff

I guess by people, you mean me, and it’s not a jab at YR, it’s a jab at JFP, who I can’t believe still has a job in daytime or anywhere. I am happy for Y&R and the fans, but JFP probably insisted a press release go out to try and top the great GH ratings news.

  • Mike

No, I meant people. It has been happening on several boards that have posted the press release. Even some are disparaging NBC for doing the same for the Days news.

I personally don’t believe any producer has the power to demand a network release a press release anymore. If they did there would be more of them for daytime.

And if CBS did not have a history of releasing these type of press releases for Y&R’s anniversaries at the top of the ratings then there might be some credence. But they do have a history of doing so.

And yes GH’s increase was great, but also 25 years at #1 which this press release is celebrating is important too.

  • BELJUMKING

I’ve been watching it for all 40 years.

  • Traci

Too bad their #1 reign won’t continue, instead expect Y&R to drop quickly in the ratings, as fans are leaving by the thousands due to the firing of Michael Muhney, poor storylines, other actors leaving in the past year, etc., etc., to now it bears zero resemblance to the show we used to know and love. For most of us, the firing of MM was the final straw, and Y&R will be lucky to survive, let alone maintain their #1 status.

  • Alta Stewart

Let’s see the ratings of Y&R after Jan 30 . I’m predicting the show will soon be canceled due to the poor story lines and the firing of MM and Michelle leaving .i think they will get what they deserve, after all they get what they pay for !
