More Like 3 words ROBIN SCORPIO…DRAKE!

  • DenverDean

Despite the minor week-to-week drops, equally impressive are the year-over-year numbers for Y&R and B&B. Yes, the storm definitely helped ratings for all soaps on Friday (the numbers were monstrous across the board), but soaps overall have been on a huge upswing.

  • Bart

Lately I have been ignoring the naysayers over at DaytimeConfidential.com (nothing but closet cases and catty house-husbands) re producer Jill Farren Phelps and her track record, but IMO she has really been steering “Y & R” on a steady course – ratings don’t lie, people.

    GO “Y & R”!!

  • j

GH has been fantastic.Good to see Days didn’t lose that much in total viewers and increased in 18-49.

  • robert sprague

you mean way to go Robert anna robin luke Felicia lucy and bobbi that’s the week Jackie zeman was back lets give her some credit, more zeman and bobbi,

  • Christina

Hang in there, Bart. Jill Farren Phelps is LEGENDARY for screwing up everything she touches. Y&R has already turned me off completely and frankly, their desperation is showing (seriously, you don’t see it?)

As for GH, YAY! Although I find it hard to believe that people are tuning in for Robin. There are SO many good stories going on…then again, Robin has never been particularly interesting to me.

  • Bo

GH is KILLING IT! The funny thing is, though, Robin has always been (and continues to be) my absolute least favorite character on the show. True, she has a ton of history, but as a character I just find her so patronizing. The reason I’m so invested in the story has nothing to do with “Robin” herself–it’s just that it’s been written beautifully and the build-up has been fantastic. Kudos Cartini and keep it up!

  • Jen

So happy to see all of the soaps doing well. I hadn’t watched GH in years but tuned in to see Robin last week since I grew up watching her in the 80’s. I didn’t even know half the people on GH but it was definitely her return that got me watching again. Now that I saw everyone find out she’s alive I’m back to just watching B&B and Y&R again. So excited to see Thorsten Kaye debut as Ridge today on B&B!

  • Jeff

The viewership and demo increases year over year are truly stunning for all 4 shows. 90% of the primetime shows on the networks would love to be up even 1,000 viewers year to year. The soaps are truly killing it! Good for the shows and their fans.

  • Marissa

I’m absolutely thrilled for GH. Very impressive!

I doubt JFP is going anywhere at Y and R her ratings are very consistent. GH is doing stellar. It’s crazy how hot this show is right now. Ron and Frank will be at GH a long time. B and B doing fantastic. DAYS is still doing solid business. It should see a 50th anniversary. It’s crazy three years ago the soap genre was dead and now it’s rising from the dead. Maybe cancelling the other shows allowed the networks to really concentrate and make the shows better.

It’s great to see all the soaps up big from last year.

I wonder why Friday was such a huge day for both B&B and Y&R?!?!?!?!

  • Jeff

All the soaps saw great ratings on Friday. Weird, since in weeks past, Friday was the weakest day. Soap ratings are completely unpredictable.

  • Mike

Was Friday when the winter storm started? I lose track of days sometimes. I know we have already had several rounds of ice and snow and I forget when each were. That is the benefit of cold weather and snow — many times it puts people home and they can watch.

    Congrats to all the soaps.

  • Tomcatt630

It was a good idea for the old Big 3 to just concentrate on 1 or 2 Soaps. People do not have the time to watch 3 hours + of them as the 1950s-80s.

  • Nashville

Could the increase have anything to do with Soapnet leaving the airwaves? Its great to see great ratings for all 4!!
