NBC's 'Grimm' Ties as Top Scripted Show of the Night Among Adults 18-49

  • Dateline NBC” (1.1/4 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied for #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, was #2 outright among those nets in total viewers and adults 25-54 and tied for #1 in men 18-34 (with a 0.7 rating) and men 25-54 (1.5).  Dateline” grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, with gains of +9% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.1), +29% in adults 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.7) and +20% in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.5).
 
  • Grimm (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the two-hour time period among the Big 4 in adults, men and women 18-34.  “Grimn” tied as the #1 scripted show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49.
 
  • L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior week’s “Grimm” earned the show’s biggest time-shifting lift ever going from “live plus same day” results to “live plus three day,” growing by 1.15 rating points from a 1.58 to a 2.73.  In L+3 rating, Grimm” ranked as the #1 show of that night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.  On a percentage basis, it’s a gain of 73% in 18-49 rating in three days.  In total viewers, the Dec. 6 Grimm” set a series record for biggest L+3 overall audience, growing to 9.008 million viewers, which tops the 8.757million in L+3 for the show’s season premiere Oct. 25.  That Dec. 6 telecast delivered 6.323 million viewers in “live plus same day” and then grew by 2.685 million or 42% in L+3.

    Its not saying much considering the higher rated shows were unscripted Undercover Boss and Shark Tank, but this wont affect Grimm’s renewal chances.

    The series is still a lock for renewal as is Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods.

    LMAO, funny how when it comes to H50 and CBS saying it one the night with viewers in their time slot everyone says it’s CBS putting their spin on it but then NBC comes out with this drivel and that’s ok!! Not cool people.

    @ heather – you are exactly right! NBC and ABC have been screaming this season about Total Viewers in numerous releases (not to mention every time their show get crushed in demo they mention “special programming” “sports-fueled line-up,” etc.)

    You really have to love these press releases.

    What NBC failed to mention in its glowing account of Grimms performance on Friday night was

    1) It’s 1.2 rating was 25% below its previous week and

    2) The special 10:00 episode tied the series low.

    So H50 and BB on average from 9:00-11:00 beat Grimm in 18-49 and killed it in total viewers? Good to know!
