Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

can someone explain me how it is that comedys and crimes TV Shows in America get a lot of viewers and high demos and not great creative shows like ouat, revenge, etc.???? ´cause i don´t understand it and i am not from the USA…so please can someone explain it to me?!?!?

  • Kissan

OUAT and Revenge did not go down because of football and Survivor last night. Both Survivor and football were both dropping every half hour as well so that means either last night was not a great day to watch TV or the cable shows had bigger than expected finales last night (which is unlikely).

  • John A

Truly terrible for Revenge. I mean to drop? I thought at least a 1.8. It was a good episode though.

  • GG

    Revenge and Once are steady.
A final season 4 is likely.

Will have to wait for finals, but based on what’s here

NBC definitely won night, but by how much?

Don’t know how much CBS numbers are inflated but TAR posting lows not good, but beats ABC

Disappointing numbers for OUAT & Rev, AFHV about par w/ 1.4 & Betrayal a flat out flop

FOX numbers really impressive–how football can pump up the volume

  • Dan

Meanwhile FOX’s Animated Xmas episodes are up double digits.

  • HalCapone

    Survivor finale down 19%. Ouch.

  • Pepper

I thought people were too optimistic and predicted a 2.0 for OUAT/1.5 for Revenge, but it looks like even I was too optimistic for OUAT.

    Great for Fox.

  • diana

every midseason finale on abc expect for scandal and greys got horrible ratings. lets just make this the shonda network because people are clearly only interested in shondas shows

  • FringeFan

Revenge is dead. If they hyped up all this to say who shot Emily and no increase then it’s done for.

  • David

Pathetic for Once Upon a Time and Revenge that they couldn’t even rise for their Winter finales. I expect a better Spring otherwise Once Upon a Time will join Revenge in the four seasons and done category. ABC needs hits next fall, from the 3 they have at the moment, Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy are both falling and while Scandal is steady, expect Paul Lee to somehow manage to ruin this show.

  • Ann

I don’t see how Once will go up in the spring. Last year the spring numbers were down quite a bit from the numbers in the fall so I don’t know why the opposite would be true this year. I’m sure it will get another year but it’s too bad that they’ve lost so many viewers.

  • diana

    @Miley the Queen
like i said above this shows that people are only interested in cable, procederal or medical or political

  • CSI

Serialized shows are terrible, accept it.

People watch those shows because they need to feel superior to follow poor storylines over lots of episodes

Big bang Theory and NCIS are the best shows on TV, ratings = truth.

I would like to see revenge on Thursday after scandal at 9pm. Anyone agree?

    Survivor finale

  • gerry

i was really pulling for a 1.8 – so did just being the holiday mess it up, or is this all the viewers the show has left. i know i watched it live last night and i don’t usually because of counterprogramming. but with no competition, this makes me nervous.

i still think it will be renewed for its final season. they should drop it somewhere on friday and just let it run its course.

hopefully it will adjust up..? -g

  • Networkman

So Revenge pretty much maintained its viewing audience from last week. It does not seem as if total viewers went down. But it did drop .1 in the demo.

Anyways, I’ve heard that Revenge will be returning in January. This information surprised me because I figured at the beginning of the season that it would end in December and return in March. That the season was basically split, containing 11 episodes apiece.

  • Steve A

As someone who bashes Revenge when Scandal is attacked, I’d have to say I’m surprised at this rating. And I wouldn’t say 0.1 drop is a “fall”. The episode was good last night though. But I’m still not in the camp that feels like syndication will lock it in for renewal.

  • diana

i think that ouat will at least get six seasons its ratings aren’t that bad its in the 1.9-2.2 category
