    The Dark One cannot kill himself with his own dagger. That’s part of the price of having the power. I’m surprised some people are assuming Rumple has died.

  • Ultima

    @John
    not just arbitrarily cancel it

    I can guarantee that ABC will not arbitrarily cancel Revenge.

    They may cancel it because they don’t think a fourth season will make them money, however.

  • Andrew43

    @Refrain

    I don’t believe Rumple died, either. He always has something up his sleeve and he had the bracelet on, when he seemed willing to cut his wrist off.
    Why didn’t he?
    Rumple pulled a Rumple on us.

  • John

    @ultima
    Ok, maybe I should clarify. Not arbitrarily cancel it. Arbitrarily end it, leaving it with a cliffhanger and unsatisfying closure for the fans who have invested in the show for so long.

  • aciel

    In my opinion the best that ABC could do for revenge is just renew it for a short final season and have mike Kelley end it the way he wanted to

  • Michael

    Why did viewers jump ship on Revenge? I understand season 2 was awful, but damn these numbers are pitiful.

  • DM

    @aciel – Mike Kelley isn’t the showrunner anymore

  • Ricky

    Disappointing that REVENGE “dropped” this week, but it did a 1.54 rating after doing a 1.56 last week… so no real change, and that’s with ONCE UPON A TIME down more than 10%. Also, REVENGE was up in total viewers.

  • aciel

    @dm I know that’s why I said that ABC should request mike Kelley to write its final season that’s the only way that the show will get a yearly stratifying ending

  • Lindsay

    I am very worried about Revenge moving to 10pm. I don’t understand why ABC is leaving one of their biggest hit shows, Scandal, in the cushy time slot behind Grey’s. Why not put OUAT after Grey’s on Thursday, and then move Scandal to 8pm and keep Revenge at 9 on Sundays. Scandal and Revenge would go good together.

    I think the Powers To Be are too worried about making Shonda happy.

    @Andrew43

    Not to mention Rumple has never been a hero, or someone you would describe as being good. Certainly he has walked the fine line between good and evil and is grounded in this position by his love for his Son and Belle. Many of his actions have served to help his own purposes. Regina for example has redeemed herself a lot more than Rumple, by a factor of many times.

  • Andrew21

    Revenge deserved a 1.6

  • Ultima

    @Michael
    Why did viewers jump ship on Revenge? I understand season 2 was awful

    Looks like you answered your own question.

  • Ultima

    @Lindsay
    I am very worried about Revenge moving to 10pm. I don’t understand why ABC is leaving one of their biggest hit shows, Scandal, in the cushy time slot behind Grey’s.

    I don’t understand why so many people think ABC should waste the lead-in of one of their biggest hit shows, Scandal, on a low-rated veteran like Revenge instead of a new drama.

    Scandal isn’t being moved because it’s providing big ratings on Thursday. You might make the argument that they should swap it with Grey’s Anatomy, but with the reduced episode order, that’s not going to happen this season.

    If they move either Grey’s Anatomy or Scandal to another night next season to free them up as lead-ins, they’ll most likely be using those for new shows, not Revenge (or Nashville or Once Upon a Time).

    Why not put OUAT after Grey’s on Thursday, and then move Scandal to 8pm and keep Revenge at 9 on Sundays. Scandal and Revenge would go good together.

    Aside from the silliness of having Once Upon a Time on at 10pm and Scandal on at 8pm, that invloves moving two of their successful dramas for no other reason than to give Revenge a good lead-in.

    I think the Powers To Be are too worried about making Shonda happy.

    Yeah, that’s clearly the only explanation as to why ABC’s top priority isn’t a heavily-serialized third season drama that’s averageing a 1.6 rating.

  • Christina Atteridge

    They should pair Betrayal with Mistresses, which comes on in the summer time.

  • Gaius Bolling

    i thought when Revenge started to stumble in season 2 and scandal increased in viewers, they should’ve paired them then. I’m sorry but that pairing makes more sense than once upon a time. Revenge could very well do good at 10 but what if it does about the same as it’s doing now? is that still good considering the 10 slot has had such low ratings in the past

  • galinthebiz

    @Ricky

    Actually, Revenge did a 1.52 not a 1.54 this week.

  • karin

    switch GA & Scandal & see ..

  • Joe

    @ Ultima
    Slow clap lol. Couldn’t have said it any better! Revenge is total garbage and ABC knows it, which is why they are moving it to 10pm in the Spring. Can’t believe the delusional fans think ABC should risk hurting all of their successful shows just to boost Revenge’s terrible ratings. The problem with Revenge isn’t it’s lead in, it’s the horrible writing and acting! You know your show is crap when one of your cast members admits to the media that he wants his character to be killed off. :)

  • Jason

    So much hate on Revenge! come on, this show is definitely much better this season!

    This is what I am taking away from these numbers:
    Despite its lead in show dropping double digits in the 18-49 category, Revenge essentially held its last airings 18-49 demo rating (1.52 vs 1.56), while building its overall audience for the third consecutive weekend! We finally have found a steady ground. Although, a 1.5 is nothing to shout about, it is steady and should at least grow a few tenths of a point once it is situated in its 10pm slot with NO competition (sports or scripted). Given all these stats, it is clear that the syndication gods will bestow at least one more season to our Revenge. I mean why would abc do that given its abysmal record with trying to launch new shows in that hour??

    Another fun fact that I found interesting, Revenge’s fall finale beat Marvel’s Agents of Shield fall finale in overall audience. (6.2 mill vs 6.1) And AoS is supposed to be this fall’s big new hit show on abc! Yikes!!!
