via NBC press note:

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” captured its highest Tuesday rating in metered-market households (3.5 rating, 9 share) in four months (since an appearance by President Obama on Aug. 6, 3.8/10).

Last night’s encore of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (1.7/6 in metered-market households) earned that show’s top Tuesday result since Oct. 8, despite being a rebroadcast.

  • In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.5/9; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.7/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

  • From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.7/6 in metered-market households with an encore telecast) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

  • At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for  live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Good for NCIS LA

  • alex

Goldbergs beat SHIELD in a rerun? Well, they will be renewed now. Congrats!

  • Doug

All things considered, not bad for The Voice

  • CrimTV

Still a good rating for The Voice nonetheless and hopefully it adjusts up!

The Voice was just great last night and congrats to Tessanne Chin, nobody deserves it more than you! ratings were a little disappointing though. hopefully it’ll adjust up!

  • alex

DADS beat New Girl and B99? I can’t. I guess this will be renewed too!

    Amanda Kondolojy “THE VOICE”

  • Frost

I love how a rerun of “The Goldbergs” still pulled in a 1.0.

  • CrimTV

Dads’ repeat did so well because it is a multi-cam comedy and they tend to repeat better anyway. This doesn’t mean it’ll be renewed.

  • Ccemerson

WoW I realize those are repeats but FOX is @ CW’s numbers . Horrible

  • radid

Why is supernatural like above new girl. Wtf guys

  • Al

Ok numbers for the voice but it’s starting to get staale

  • Ultima

WoW I realize those are repeats but FOX is @ CW’s numbers . Horrible

Both networks aired repeats last night and FOX averaged twice what the CW averaged…

    FOX – 1.0, 0.7, 0.7, 0.7

    CW – 0.4, 0.3, 0.4, 0.4

  • radid

High numbers for a cw repeat. Defo an adjustment down for bith TO and SPN

  • Refrain

Not bad for POI considering the show had a 3 week break. The ratings seem back to normal for what it was averaging in this timeslot anyway. Hopefully we’ll see more stability when it the scheduling returns to normal.

I’m expecting the final ratings to be roughly the same as they are now, maybe a little below 12 million.

  • Tom

I’d hardly say POI “slides”, 12mil+ is pretty good against Voice finale, even 1.9 is not bad considering they have been hovering around 2.0 all year.

  • Douglas from Brazil

The Voice is getting old fast…the ideia of 2 cycles a year will kill the show. And how a Dads repeat did better than all FOX comedies?

  • CrimTV

High numbers for a cw repeat. Defo an adjustment down for bith TO and SPN

Supernatural and The Originals new episodes are highly rated so just because they scored 0.3/0.4 does not mean they will adjust down
