Duck Dynasty Cast

PETA has jumped on the bandwagon condemning Duck Dynasty after some controversial remarks by star Phil Robertson and has called on A&E to cancel the entire series, releasing the following statement:

PETA wants A&E to do more than suspend one of the characters on Duck Dynasty for damning gays. We call on the channel to challenge the entire crew of duck slayers to ignore Sarah Palin’s self-serving slap on the back for spewing hate speech and deny that they are as anti-gay as they are anti-animal. All people who consider themselves followers of Christ should follow all His teachings—and that includes showing mercy, compassion, and kindness to all of God’s creation, human and nonhuman alike. What’s ‘sinful’ is hating people and animals. PETA asks everyone who consider themselves to be Christian to reject hate speech and call for this show’s cancellation

They are not anti-animal PETA, for you to assume that they are makes you ignorant.

Watch the TV show for once. They own dogs. Dogs are animals. Do they mistreat the dogs? No.

And if you ever noticed at the end when they have the whole family dinner – They eat whatever they acquire. They don’t go around shooting ducks, deer, turkeys, etc and leave their carcasses there to rot. And they always gives thanks for the meal they have to eat…

It’s nonsense…Nobody is forced to approve the sexuality of others.Theses minorities complaning so much that is so annoying. Why PETA was involved in this? They’re think that Robinson kill gays ducks?

    @DenverDean,
The religious groups efforts couldn’t have been that succesful if Illinois signed into law the same sex marriage act a month ago.

  • Matthew

I am a Christian and I’m proud to say that Jesus Christ, the world’s Lord and Savior, is also my Lord. There is no mention of “hate speech” in the Bible. The Bible says what’s wrong and what’s right but not to judge but that He alone can judge. What Phil said was that it’s wrong, plain and simple. He was asked to give his opinion and he gave it. The short phrase “hate speech” is a common misconception for Christ telling Christians how to explain in a way that convicts and can be harsh, but to also do it out of love and compassion. I will admit that there are Christians that live up to the stereotypes about the Christian Faith. Though what’s sad is that everyone believes that all Christians are what the stereotypes say and that’s so far from the truth. The fact that people forget is that Jesus ate with and befriended gay people, thiefs, liars, etc. and commanded Christians to do the same but also share His Word. Jesus said, “For God did not send His Son (referring to Him) into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”.

The Bible is here for us to use as a tool to get as many people as we can to spend the rest of eternity with God in Heaven. Jesus died for all and saved all. Whether you believe it or not, I pray that Lord will continue to change the hearts of many. What Phil said was true and he should be praised for standing up for his beliefs. The Bible can be used for love, comfort and compassion but it’s also to convict and press on your heart. I, like my Lord and Savior, love all people but I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe and I will also say that the lifestyle of being gay is wrong but I don’t hate gay people. I love each and every last one of you whether you’re spewing hate or not and I’ll continue to pray for all those who condemn those who believe the same way I do. I pray that God blesses each and every last one of you in your daily walk of life.

duck dinasty is a terribel show one of the worts realitys , is soo stupid , sarah palin is a criminal patetic person , poor eeuu your dammed

  • Paulie

I think they should eliminate A&E all together and CMT should pick up all the shows, plus I am a Liberal and I like Phil and the show duck dynasty, everybody has the right to express how they feel about things that is our Constitutional right, and if A & E don’t like it, I think they should be taken off the air not Phil or Duck Dynasty!

  • Amanda W.

Just one more reason that I will NEVER support PETA! Trying to get some attention? Go find something relevant to be truly outraged about!

  • Hart300

Apparently, PETA are as dumb as I always thought they were. The Bible isn’t against the killing of animals as long as it is for food. What was that they used to make sacrifices with at alters? Oh, that’s right, ANIMALS! PETA, stop changing the word of God to push your own agendas. It will only turn against you.

The chick Lisa is a LOON!!!! PETA just wants to get there name out there too remember everyone that they even still exist… I don’t watch the show but they are THEE number one show on that network. THey are gonna play hardball with these nuts and LEAVE the network they wanna play this BS about some anti-gay BS… You got people on here that DONT even know what they guy said and they are sayin “if he said anti-gay or anti-animal things I condemm it” You liberal nut bags are so far gone to condemm ANYTHING w/out even knowing what they said!!!! REDICULOUS you libtards!!!!! Move to CUBA ALREADY!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!

  • Ram510

I don’t thing the show needs to be canceled because of the comment (seriously people, are you surprised?) but undo think the show needs to be canceled because it’s terrible

  • TVDude

I don’t care about Duck Dynasty, but can we cancel PETA while we’re at it?

  • JJA

This is getting ridiculous. Doesn’t the “left” learn? As with Chick-fil-a, the Duck Dynasty people will now become RICHER and MORE POWERFUL than ever. GLADD, A&E and now PETA are creating a monster.

A proper way to have handled this was for A&E to simply issue a statement of disapproval, and then they could invite a popular gay celebrity (such as RuPaul or Perez Hilton) to guest on Duck Dynasty.

  • cimmer

Aren’t the 15 minutes up yet on Duck Dynasty story?

  • Rhonda

Um we love the show and I would like to point out when people say that the family is “anti-animal” have you all forgotten that they have dogs which are there pets and members of there family so they are not @anti-animal”. Just because they hunt and eat what they hunt which by the way is the way it is susposed to be since humans are at the top of the food chain! What is the difference in them hunting and eating animals and us others that don’t hunt goin to the store and buying and cooking and eating meats that someone had to kill to feed us?? Come on people PETA and anyone one else agreeing with them ate all crazy and need to get a clue on what the wod and life is really about

  • Danny

Peta will not get their way and shouldn’t. The man is allowed to have an opinion. And although I do not agree with his exact statements, I do agree in general.

  • NickS

I guess freedom of speech goes out the door if it doesn’t promote the liberal cause. PETA is a joke.

  • cimmer

@Rhonda, I don’t agree with Peta here as I think they’re just jumping on the bandwagon and I’ve only seen a few eps of the show but I stopped watching because they stripped a live frog of it’s skin. I know people eat frogs but for some reason I thought they cracked their skulls and killed them before they ripped their skin off, apparently not these guys. If Peta was going to get involved I’m not sure why they didn’t do it earlier. Also, Peta’s not so big on companion animals

  • Bradley

Look, I don’t agree with what Phil said. It is rather dated and unnecessary. However, how is it hate speech to say being gay is wrong and it’s not hate speech to say his Christian beliefs are wrong? We have a messed up society when calls for tolerance are so blatantly one sided. If we truly wanted change, we would hear all viewpoints and allow for a political dialogue that included everyone.

As for PETA, if you really want to protect animals, you have much bigger fish to fry. The cancellation of a show is not going to stop a family from hunting. And their duck call business will not suffer either.

  • Jagger Dagger

    A&E owns the show.
If all this outrage and publicity makes the show bigger and ups its ratings, guess who wins in the end? That would be A&E.

And before people start waving the flag around, just remember that is a business decision, not a constitutional issue. Nobody’s 1st amendment rights are being violated. It could be a good decision for A&E or a stupid one. Free speach rights are a government issue, not an employer/employee issue. If Phil was arrested for what he said, that’s a constitutional issue. If Phil is fired for what he said, it’s not. And if you think its some liberal/conservative thing, Bill Maher and Alec Baldwin would disagree. Both of them were fired from their programs after what they said on their own shows as well.

  • cimmer

    @Jagger Dagger, well said.
