Duck Dynasty Cast

PETA has jumped on the bandwagon condemning Duck Dynasty after some controversial remarks by star Phil Robertson and has called on A&E to cancel the entire series, releasing the following statement:

PETA wants A&E to do more than suspend one of the characters on Duck Dynasty for damning gays. We call on the channel to challenge the entire crew of duck slayers to ignore Sarah Palin’s self-serving slap on the back for spewing hate speech and deny that they are as anti-gay as they are anti-animal. All people who consider themselves followers of Christ should follow all His teachings—and that includes showing mercy, compassion, and kindness to all of God’s creation, human and nonhuman alike. What’s ‘sinful’ is hating people and animals. PETA asks everyone who consider themselves to be Christian to reject hate speech and call for this show’s cancellation

    Well said.

    I love that group! :^)

As for Phil Robertson, he’s a blunt speaker he answered a question he was ask. It could have been worded better but they’re his personal beliefs.
I’m sure that no one else has any beliefs that others find offensive.

So I’ll go back to what I was taught when they were still chipping the corners off the wheel.
Sticks and stones may break bones, but names will never hurt me.

C’mon folks grow a bit of a thicker skin.

Love and Peace, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

How pathetic does PETA look?!?!? Ahahahaha. Why do I picture PETA as the small, dorky teenager standing behind their tall, football player friend in a fight going “YEAH! What he said?”. Bahahaha.

  • merlin

Duck Dynasty & AE know what they’re doing. In my parents day, you would have to piss off the bible thumpers to get free pub, today its the PC crowd.

  • Susan

The Robertsons eat what they kill. I suppose all you PETA people are vegetarians, right?

  • cimmer

@Susan, yeah PETA people in fact would all be vegetarian, that’s part of their deal and strangely enough, PETA does support subsistence hunting and the killing of animals for clothing if that’s all you have; they recently handed out fur coats that were given up to the homeless in a couple of cities PETA has never had a problem with the various people on Earth who completely live off the animals they hunt or raise. Just want to be fair here.

  • Bradley

Then what’s their deal with Duck Dynasty?

  • Joe

Does PETA realize that if we never ate meat, we’d have never developed the brain power to take such ridiculous stands on issues such as this?

  • Flame

Not realistic to cancel Duck Dynasty with their ratings, so just cancel PETA please.

  • cimmer

@Bradley, I only know what I read in the article, although hunting, especially in this country, is not usually done for subsistence (Alaska being a big exception), it’s done for pleasure or because someone has hankering for duck or deer, not because they can’t go down to the store and buy food. On top of that, these guys are rich and REALLY don’t need to hunt for food, so they’re probably hunting for sport and hunting for sport is an absolute no-no for PETA. I’m sure it’s all on their webpage.

  • Bob

Keep Duck Dynasty dump PETA. Wow that is how much I despise PETA. As a gay man, Duck Dynasty is silly and what Phil said is his own opinion. What I mostly can’t believe is how much attention this is getting all over the place.

  • Joseph

A&E’s annual profits have more than doubled since “Duck Dynasty” premiered.

  • PETA is funny

lol, how cute, trying to get their name out more. People know who you are, they just don’t like you lol

Anyone sane is against harming any animals for fun. God gave us domain over other creatures of our planet. God fed fish to the people that gathered to hear Christ. He had them sacrifice lambs until our creator came to this earth to sacrifice himself.

PETA would get a lot more support if they just stuck with protecting animal abuse and not crying over hunters. People hunt, the eat what they kill, it will never change, get over it.

If you want to bring God into this at all, you should be saving babies that are murdered, but wait, I think they support that…. Makes sense…

  • Gary

I agree with PETA, cancel the show.

  • HeadlessHorseman

PETA’s attempts to crawl out of the black hole of utter irrelevance are laughable. No matter how much I love animals, can’t take PETA seriously.

  • John D

I’m not surprised that PETA is upset that Phil labeled bestiality a sin, I mean how are the PETA members gunna get some ass if sheep is off the menu?

  • Debra

Do the Peta people realize that Jesus himself ate fish.

  • Aaron

There was a comment earlier made by Jeff about everyone knowing the comments made by Phil do not reflect the show or network. And you are correct, however, television in America is a bit more complex than that. If something can go wrong, it gets cancelled. Unfortunately, the various companies which provide content to the televisions across our homes here in America do not like negativity directed towards them. Shows receive negative feedback all of the time from consumers like you or I. Networks as well, But when organizations, and other media sources that would love nothing more than to bash their competition with a reason take the case, then they feel forced to cancel or control that which they feel may bring them down, instead of standing up for the freedom to which they should represent by allowing shows to portray their own message so as long as they do not make false claims or direct attacks.

Expressing your opinion seems all the rage in America compared to other countries, but once you’re here, if you do, expect to find yourself in the middle of a world of negative attention.

  • Glenda

ok to the idiots out there Peta wants the Robertson to quit eating meat. They are not saying mean things to animals. They hunt them and eat them….. When we run out of animals to hunt and eat maybe Peta members will be next. LMaO

  • Patty

How many people hunt? Are they the only people who watch that show? 8 million people hunt? Let’s see some breakdown on the kinds of idiots who watch that show.

Anyone who thinks killing animals equals family values needs to rethink the meaning. A show that is based on killing animals belongs on one of those hunting channels so those of us who don’t want our kids seeing people killing real animals can block it. One thing we never hear about during the gun debates is that all of the young kids who have gone on shooting sprees learned how to shoot by hunting with a family member.

Those DD rednecks are a black eye on society, and a channel that used to bring us quality programming should be shamed into dumping them. BTW, we should boycott their new program Rodeo Girls. What has TV come to? Write the advertisers!
