IStandWithPhil.com Petition Drive Calls for Phil Robertson’s Immediate Return to Duck Dynasty

Petitioners ask A&E to cease its discriminatory censorship of Mr. Robertson and to treat people of faith with equality, fairness, and true tolerance

(Raleigh, NC – December 19, 2013) — Faith Driven Consumer, an organization connecting Christian consumers with faith-compatible companies, has launched the IStandWithPhil.com petition drive, which calls for The A&E Network to immediately reinstate Mr. Phil Robertson to its #1 hit show, Duck DynastyIStandWithPhil.com is garnering strong support from Faith Driven Consumers with its call for tolerance, fairness, and respect for differing viewpoints in America’s rainbow of diversity.

“Simply put, Phil Robertson is being censored and punished for quoting the Bible, and A&E’s treatment of him is punitive and highly discriminatory, ” said Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer. “Everyday people will not stand for this, they know bullying and violation of religious freedom when they see it. A&E’s actions are censoring Faith Driven Consumers and eliminating them from an entertainment choice that they have overwhelmingly supported.”

IStandWithPhil.com is leading the charge in the call for fairness and equality as we defend the fundamental American right to free speech and tradition of tolerance.”

The IStandWithPhil.com online petition drive cites the A&E network’s “intolerant, discriminatory, and punitive treatment” of the Duck Dynasty star, noting that “A&E's position, which in your own words is ‘championing’ the gay and lesbian community…excludes the views of Faith Driven Consumers and effectively censors a legitimate viewpoint held by the majority of Americans.” IStandWithPhil.com calls for respect for the millions of viewers of the show, and demands that the network immediately reinstate Mr. Robertson and “formally apologize to him, his family, and the millions of viewers who tune in every week, stand by him, and share his worldview.”

The complete petition can be seen here:

The 46 million strong Faith Driven Consumer market segment, which spends 1.75 trillion dollars annually, is rallying in support of Mr. Robertson and is closely watching the network’s response. In addition to breaking nearly every cable TV record and bringing in huge dollars for A&E, Duck Dynasty’s product tie-ins are projected to bring in more than $400 million dollars in revenue by the end of 2013. There are more than 75 licensing deals in effect and more than 1,200 Robertson-related products currently available in stores nationwide this Christmas shopping season.

let’s be honest about this. most christians don’t follow hardly anything in the new testament anyways. nearly every christian blatantly disobeys many of its teachings.

  • JOE

    @Joe Smith

Sadly you are correct…that is why this world is changing so rapidly. It isn’t the invetions/internet, its that sin has taken hold and as the Bible says “The wages of sin is death”.

You all should look at some of the comments in that petition. Hilarious. And they wonder why nobody takes them seriously.

I keep seeing the crazy antics going on south of us … and sadly creeping in up here as well and I wonder did the Romans also see such a fluster cluck as their empire approached the end? Or will the US actually manage to shed it’s inbred, hillbilly tail waggin’ the dog minority and survive to join the rest of the big boy countries with real issues to deal with rather than worrying who’s bumping what uglies with who … if they ain’t my uglies, I don’t really care what anyone else does as long as it’s consensual, age appropriate, still has a pulse and from the same species.

As for the case at hand, he’s in the US and therefore free to spew what ever crazy ass crap he wants just as A&E is free to say buh bye to an employee who breaches their code of conduct. I do hope the show continues though because I think it’s much better to have it’s fans at home watching TV rather than having more free time on their hands and heading out onto the streets.

    @JOE:
Here’s what the bible says about slavery:

“However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.”
    (Leviticus 25:44-46)

“When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.”
    (Exodus 21:20-21)

“Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.”
    (Ephesians 6:5)

“The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it.”
    (Luke 12:47-48)

Sounds like the bible was pretty ok with slavery to me.

Being a gay man myself, the thought of people even wanting to see this monster back on tv after the things he said just makes me really sad and scared. i don’t even watch the show, but if this monster (i don’t even consider him a person, nor does he deserve to still be alive) does come back on tv thanks to this awful petition, i will lose my sh*t.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Is he related to Pat Robertson?

QUOTE:(i don’t even consider him a person, nor does he deserve to still be alive):QUOTE

Amazing comment, Shane. Maybe, since he dares to disagree with your “more tolerant” viewpoints, we should just publicly execute him. Would that make you feel more comfortable? Let me ask you something; why do you feel that EVERYONE in the world MUST agree with your views on life? And why is it, if they don’t see things YOUR way, then they’re not a “real” person and deserve to die? Pretty harsh way to live, if you ask me.

And yet, this Duck Dynasty guy is the one being portrayed as the bad guy.

What A&E and the gay community is doing is sickening! God forbid someone express an opinion different from yours! We use to have freedom of speech in this country, evidently that has been killed by political correctness. Phil is the bigot? Look in the mirror GLAAD! There’s your bigot! You are the ones always calling for tolerance, how about you practice what you preach and start tolerating views different than your own!!!

  • snoot

So much “tolerance” from Shane! Practice what you preach, hypocrite.

  • r0ckmypants

@snoot – “God forbid someone express an opinion different from yours! We use to have freedom of speech in this country…”

No one is taking away his freedom of speech. He’s not being arrested or charged criminally. He said what he wanted to, and no one is saying he can’t. But there are consequences to the things we say, and that’s what this man is finding out now. For example, I’m allowed to call my boss a d*ck today, but I probably won’t have a job tomorrow. Keep in mind that A&E Network has imposed this suspension, not any LGBT group. Phil offended his employer, so they are taking action against him… plain and simple.

“We use to have freedom of speech in this country, evidently that has been killed by political correctness.”

I’m still not sure how his freedom of speech was taken away. He’s still free to say and do whatever he pleases. He just won’t be doing it on his TV show.

Remember when conservatives made sure “The Reagans” wouldn’t air because they felt that it was disrespectful?

I don’t remember anyone talking about free speech then.

Free speech is only used when someone who makes racist or bigoted comments is criticized for them.

  • merlin

Its great to live in a country were you dont have like or agree with something as long as you at least tolerate.

  • Freyja

So much “tolerance” from Shane! Practice what you preach, hypocrite.

^ pretty much that in a nut shell.

The left loves to scream about tolerance but they never practice it.. ;)

Never ever wish anyone to die, because you don’t agree with their view points, that’s just wrong.

As a bisexual I think this whole thing is blown way out of whack by both sides, everyone needs to calm the heck down and take a chill pill.

Stop worrying about what others say about you.

  • merlin

Does anybody know of any re-education camps? Its the next logical step.

  • Susan

I love all the bigots who are crying that the gay community is bigoted because they don’t let them be bigots. Newsflash! You are allowed to be as bigoted as you want. What you cannot be is bigoted without consequence. Nor is it a freedom of relgion case. He wasn’t just condeming homosexuality because of his relgion. His comments basically boiled down to “gay sex is icky”.

  • JJA

@Jagger Dagger — You are WRONG to misinterpret the Bible as endorsing slavery.

Firstly, the above new testament references (Luke & Ephesians) use the terms “slave” or “servant” to refer to humanity in general. It is God that is the master of men. This was a fundamental belief of the early Church.

With regard to the old testament references (Exodus and Leviticus), they are both disavowed by the New Testament. For example, in Galatians 3:28, Paul writes that there “is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

  • Scs790

It’s sad how ..someone has a differ opinion and is punished. It just shows “free thought” isn’t allowed anymore. I don’t agree w Phil. But I do admire him speaking how he feels public. I just wish more people would stand up for what they believe to.. Just like the attack on Christmas. All I see is the atheist/PC police getting tv time. Thankfully I live in the the south and it hasn’t here yet. But I believe next yr it will creep around here. I am so disappointed in the people in areas where “holiday tree” vs Christmas tree. Stand up for what you believe in.

  • CrimTV

The fact people are living in the past and still refuse to accept different types of people makes me feel sick.
