  • Michael

    Pop the champagne, Mark Pedowitz!

  • Oliver

Great season for The CW. Mark Pedowitz is doing a great job slowly but surely turning the network around.

  • Joseph

If the Cancellation Bear whacks “The Carrie Diaries”, the CW’s ratings will only go up!

  • EatMorePez

Notice how they didn’t mention Mondays or Fridays.

  • Will

    Good for you, CW!
Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and The Originals will most certainly stick around for next season! Let’s hope the network will launch more succesful new shows :)

  • Contrarian

    Or TTP or Reign!!

  • Pr’

Ha! TTP and Reign didn’t even get a mention. Whatevs bc I love both. Dixie and B&TB must go!

  • Charmed

“· While The CW is gaining viewers on-air, it continues to see huge growth in the digital streaming of full episodes, and remains hugely popular across social platforms.”

TCD does well in this, third most streamed.

  • June

They also didn’t mention TTP or Reign. Congrats to the CW for having four hit shows this season. The new president is doing a great job.

  • Tom

It’s only a network press release people. So take it with a grain of salt. To date, the Originals is the CW’s only “solidly” rated new show and that’s likely because it’s a spin off of the network’s most popular series. The other two new programs are pulling 0.6 – 0.7 ratings which is hardly earth shattering at mid-season. The vaunted network turnabout is nothing more than that none of the new series were DOA like Cult and EOMD. However, the CW still has two programs to premiere. So, hold off on popping those champagne corks for a while.

  • Nick.

Their preference for sci-fi/fantasy over soapy teen drama is certainly a huge factor. A34-49 audience are tuning in more, which indicates exactly that. Their series are still pretty… teeny whiny but all solid guilty pleasures for me.

  • Dochas

@Tom – don’t be a Debbie Downer. If you noticed, the release is all about their top shows and ratings, saying nothing about their new shows. It’s a fact that their numbers are up. It’s a fact that they have 4 strong shows. Those four shows have increased the ratings and viewership, or at the least, hold steady.
Arrow, TO and Supernatural having stellar seasons is reason enough for me to pop open an apple cider, if not champagne.

  • Brandy

@PR, hate to break it to ya(wait.. No I don’t. Lol.) HoD will be renewed for syndication.
CW has good shows:CD,HoD,Reign,VD(seasons 1-3 were better),TO.BatB is deccent.

  • david

Good for the network slowly turning around. Mark is doing a goodjob running it. So far he has Arrow and the Oringinals as successes. He seems to be good a scheduling the shows too. I hope they have at least one hit in there midseason shows as well.

  • Tphxitachi

@Tom, your wrong. Your only thinking about its on air ratings when the online streaming is up massively. And your forgetting about whose line is it anyways performance.

  • Kaylie

I hope they get comedies on their line up as well.

  • Dahne

I like what Pedowitz has been doing. He certainly inspires more confidence than Ostroff ever did. I hope the new spin-offs exceed their original shows and truly make the CW competition worthy on more than just one night.

  • Eric_Philly

I feel vindicated for having called for what’s-her-name to be fired since the birth of the network. Well done!

  • The Original J

I hope the CW continues to move away from past junk like “Gossip Girl” and toward more shows like “Arrow.” The ratings are showing that those shows are the ones people want to watch.

  • eelna

Wait if TO gets 1.9 mill streams, how many do TCD as third and Reign as fourth best streaming series get?
