Anything for The Exes? Was really happy it was placing in the summer, but looking like it’s dipped a bit.

    EXES, THE-12/18/2013 10:30 PM 667 0.2

  • Russell

TBBT first, great for it, lol at everything else.

  • Michael

Kirstie Alley is having a difficult time succeeding on television, lately. People are not embracing her.

  • Mike

I like the Exes (including last night’s Christmas episode) but that dip was HUGE not just a little dip.Wonder if Kirstie stinks up the room so bad for TV Land at 10 pm that no one sticks around for a truly funny show.

  • Mike

    Thank you Amanda!

  • Mike

I have a hard time believing TV Land’s basement ratings.I sampled Kirstie and it wasn’t that bad.One would think that all that classic-sitcom star power it has (including Cloris Leachman last night) would give it better ratings then old Seinfeld and Friends reruns.

Then the Exes-another show with a classic-sitcom cast that has become one of TV Lands biggest hits (averaging a million+ viewers last season). What happened?

  • Mike

I think besides Kirstie being a bad show, TV Land is also getting a backlash for cancelling Happily Divorced, whether u liked that show or not, ratings wise that show was working and loved by TV Land viewers. s
So for a network to just cancel a show that was working is just a slap in the face of people that suport your original shows.
And I think that in part is also a reason why Kirstie is failing and pulling Exes along with it.
I still don’t get why they renewed Soul Man, a show which ratings where worse then Happily Divorced.

  • grey

Too bad about “Mob City.” It was nice while it lasted and thankfully it ended with only the slightest of a cliff-hanger. So assuming it won’t be back at least those of us who did enjoy it aren’t left hanging and wondering, too much, about the fate of the main characters.

  • Mathew k

What did Kesha my crazy beautiful life season 2 finale get???

  • BJH

Why didn’t they have The Exes, an established TVland sitcom, lead the hour? Kirstie is ruining its ratings.

  • JR

Nice to see Key & Peele getting decent ratings even without a new episode of South Park.

  • Mathew k

    Kirstie (10:00)* – TV Land
    0.908 million viewers, #24; 0.208 million adults 18-49 (0.16 rating), #36

The Exes (10:30)* – TV Land
    0.908 million viewers, #25; 0.208 million adults 18-49 (0.16 rating), #37

Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life (10:30)* – MTV
    0.464 million viewers, #35; 0.315 million adults 18-49 (0.25 rating), #32

    I really hope ke $ha gets a season 3!!!

  • Joe D

    @MathewK

Those are just the TVLAND averages. Amanda posted the actual 667 .02 rating for The Exes

    @grey
agree – great effort with terrific cast but many Bingo excuses abound: wrong network? doubling up in eps? too near Christmas?

based on book “LA Noir” by John Buntin if you want real story

    Go Miami Heat, woo hoo!!

“I have a hard time believing TV Land’s basement ratings.I sampled Kirstie and it wasn’t that bad.One would think that all that classic-sitcom star power it has (including Cloris Leachman last night) would give it better ratings then old Seinfeld and Friends reruns.”

Because people in the 18-49 demo don’t care about old shows from the 70s because the period they get nostalgic over was the period when Seinfeld and Friends were on?

I really wish Futon Critic wouldn’t just throw up network averages and treat them the same as actual per-show ratings to the point of actually listing different ranks for different shows on the same network that all get the exact same numbers, with only a tiny little asterisk differentiating them from actual ratings. Confusing people like MathewK is the most obvious of the problems it causes, but there’s got to be a better way to handle it in general. And of course in cases like this all it does is point out holes in the sources TFC has when TVBTN has info they don’t…

  • Brett Heitkam

I do miss Happily Divorced IMMENSELY, but I think Kirstie is good too (especially Michael Richards), and The Exes is my favorite sitcom on TV. I wish TVLand could figure out what to do to save The Exes at least. Maybe if Kirstie doesn’t work out, they can bring back Happily Divorced? Also, the renewal of The Soul Man was baffling. Just a thought…maybe more people would watch these shows if TVLand was in HD? I know plenty of people who pay literally no attention to the non-HD channels.

  • Brandon

Oh, god I can’t get into Kirstie. I usually give shows more then one episode, but that pilot was just awful. That being said isn’t The Exes about on par with last week? Those ratings aren’t that bad for TVland. The Exes is a great comedy, and more people should be watching it of course.

  • Rachel

Does anyone have the actuall Kirstie ratings?

  • Michael1

Maybe A&E should cancel “Duck Dynasty” and use that money to buy repeats of “The Big Bang Theory”. Or maybe they could do a reality show about Jim Parsons’ life. Either way, they’d most likely get better ratings.
