Oh, Reign is sooo getting renewed.

  • John A

Nothing went up or down even the repeats stayed the same. You don’t often see that.

  • Daw Johnson

@Sel – I don’t know about that. Re-run ratings can be pretty arbitrary (it’s not like the next original Reign is going to outrate the next original TVD).

I am, however, hoping that this is not a pure fluke and DOES mean people are starting to give the series a shot. It got an unfair shake in the media due to the concern about historical inaccuracies, but it quickly became The CW’s strongest launch, creatively, in years.

  • Brandy

    Reign repeat beat VD repeat.Woe.

  • Pr

It’s understandable. TVD’s fifth season is nothing to brag about. Just an anjoyable hour of TV that will be forgotten by the time Reign starts. As such, Reign has become a highly addictive and interesting show. Sure, Reign is getting better while TVD is getting older (and boring). At least it’s watchable, unlike True Blood. :)

  • I love The Sing Off

    ..because Jewels boobs :D

  • I love The Sing Off

Hey shouldn’t Charlie Brown be above X Factor because it has a higher share and more viewers?

  • Michael

    PR,

We’ll see which show between: TVD & Reign will come out on top, when both return in January! ;)

  • Abyalew

Charlie Brown beat the X Factor!

  • HalCapone

Nearly a 50% drop from the last finale is beyond pathetic. Simon Cowell should be strung up by his man boobs. If Ex-Factor does indeed return, FOX must be extremely desperate, even if it’s a shortened version.

Hey shouldn’t Charlie Brown be above X Factor because it has a higher share and more viewers?…

And not only that, the early XF half hours that were up against CB were the lowest rated. I’ve never been able to discern a consistent ranking protocol in their tables other than the shows with the obviously higher demos usually sort to the top.

  • John A

Lol celebrating a Reign repeat? Call me when it hits a 1.0 for a new ep then brag.

  • Anthony

Shouldn’t Charlie Brown be on top of X Factor, or no because Charlie Brown counts as a repeat.

  • Alan

    @PR
if Reign is so much better than TVD why it loses almost half of TVD’s audience all the time? we’ll see how well it does when it comes back with NEW episodes.

  • CookyMonzta

If X-F had finished below 1.5, I would have said 95% chance of cancellation. Now I give it 60-70% chance of getting X’ed out. Alex and Sierra’s win saved the show on the West Coast, otherwise it surely would have dropped closer to 1.0 and a 100% chance of getting canceled.

  • theCroup

    >>Now I give it 60-70% chance of getting X’ed out.

Barring really unknown factors (like a backroom deal with Simon), I still think X-Factor has a 90% chance or better of being canceled. Sure, a 1.7 (and tied for second with a rerun and behind another rerun) is decent given the ratings this season but it was a finale and they pulled out all the stops. If they trot out all these A-list musical guests and still can’t crack a 2.0, I think that’s pretty good proof that you’re unlikely to do much better next season.

  • HalCapone

No adjustments for even Big Bang repeat seems kind of unusual. Doesn’t a repeat of it almost always adjust up a tenth or so?

I think FOX will de facto bring Ex-Facto back but in shortened form and probably only for one more season just because of the relationship with queen Simon.

  • theCroup

    >>I think FOX will de facto bring Ex-Facto back but in shortened form and probably only for one more season just because of the relationship with queen Simon.

He could save face by claiming he wants to make time to concentrate on the UK show and spend time with his first born son. Then everyone can nod at how warm and fuzzy he is and the show can slink off the air.

  • CrimTV

Just because a rerun of Reign got higher ratings than TVD does not mean it is in a better position than before. TVD always repeats badly because who is going to suddenly decide to join the show half way through it’s 5th season?! Reign is a new show, only 8 episodes in.

  • Derek

    @Alan
Ratings don’t prove or determine how good a show is. Reign is a surprisingly good show but the ratings don’t help matters. Besides TVD and Reign are two different genres so i’m not surprised it isn’t all that compatible with TVD’s audience.
