It’s a little weird how FOX has not renewed The X Factor yet. Usually with these competition shows they’ll be renewed well in advance or the network will announce the renewal the night of the finale.

    Which has not happened.

Too many singing competition shows on tv.X Factor was awful except for the musical stars they had last night.

  • Mark

Fox should think about using X-Factor as a Summer time filler(that being said if not summer time filler it should be cancelled, i think indirectly to many singing competitions hurts AI)

  • Jayson

So both X-Factor and The Sing-off were beaten by a 48 year old special that aired a 2nd time this Christmas season? Proves the power of Peanuts!

X Factor better be a one night

Reign still beated TVD and nothing will change it!

Regarding the TVD/Reign repeat situation, given the circumstances I’d say that it was to be expected sooner or later. I mean, TVD has its audience now. Five seasons in, if you’re a fan you’re already watching and you probably watched the repeat the first time it aired. Reign is still a fresh show that a lot of people might not have tried out yet, and so are more likely to take notice of on a relatively slow television night.

Not that any of that is a bad thing. Reign did indeed rate higher than TVD last night, albeit barely, and that’s an accomplishment in itself. Of course, what really matters is that it was a good enough episode repeated to hold the interest of any new potential viewers and have them return when the new episodes are on. If Reign can show growth in its new episode ratings too, that’s a real win.

I like both Reign and The Vampire Diaries and I already knew The Vampire Diaries’ repeats generally don’t do great on rating, but to the people who said it’s because it’s on its fifth season, then tell me why Supernatural, which is on its 9th season, obtained the rating of 0.4 with 0.93mil viewers?

  • a reign repeat beat TVD wow

Shut up reign fans, you are starting to annoy & irritate like the Beauty and the beast fans before you.

Do you need to be told what happen to that show this year. Do not brag when you have nothing. An average 0.6 in first season fall is nothing to write home about, this screams a pity season 2 renewal and cancellation in second season. You wont get the post TVD slot next year.

In the last 2 seasons they always announced its renewal during the week of Thanksgiving. That did not happen this time, nor have they made an official announcement as of yet.

That should tell us that they are STILL giving very serious consideration to canceling this show, because next year they are guaranteed to dip into the 0’s many times during the season, and tarnish for all time the idea of having talent shows like this on TV, from Idol on down.
