    Why is NBC still keeping the two comedies that hit below 1.0 for consecutive weeks on schedule? I remember last year, when a show not on Friday or CW gets below 1.0 for two weeks in a row, they are pulled out right away.

  • RJC

    @RJC : Stop saying crap, The Crazy Ones is airing after THE MILLERS, not The Big Bang Theory.

    I never said it aired directly after TBBT. But it airs only a half-hour after TBBT ends. It drops ~0.8 from its lead-in The Millers, which itself is boosted by TBBT, which is an extremely highly-rated show.

  • s0303

    i feel bad for parenthood…nbc sure screwed that show up…

  • Valentin

    @RJC Well one is losing only 0.8 point on the demo but the other one loses 2.6points and it seems okay to all of you.

  • RJC

    For the record, I don’t think The Millers is doing very well, either, given that it has the highest lead-in on network television. But I think it’s probably higher than Mom and TCO on the CBS comedy totem pole.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

    Oh jeez, TAAHM may get another season.

    Go Human Beings!

  • Paulo PT

    CBS should move The Millers to Monday 8PM and give Friends with Better Lives the post TBBT timeslot!

    THe Millers don’t go anywere for sure! TAAHM did better last year!

    CBS should try a new sitcom.

    Two and a Half Men 11 years, new timeslot, not a easy one, and still do better than the Crazy Ones and mom.

  • Androme

    For the record, Parenthood is Still on the air, in its fifth season. So NBC didn’t really screw it that bad.

  • Ultima

    @Amy
    Why were the networks airing new episodes last week?

    Why wouldn’t they? The major broadcast networks typically air original programming the first week of January.

  • Ultima

    @RJC
    Did NBC decide to treat the two episodes of Community as one because the overall average rating for the hour was higher than the 8:30 half-hour rating would have been if it was considered a separate episode?

    The first half-hour outrated the second half-hour, so including it reduced the average for the premiere.

    However, the second half-hour is still going to be higher than the season average, so it will end up raising the season average (if it was a separate episode, it would have been a “special” and not counted in the average).

    Note that Nielsen season averages are per minute, not per airing/episode.

    @David
    Why is NBC still keeping the two comedies that hit below 1.0 for consecutive weeks on schedule?

    NBC is holding most of their replacement midseason programming until after the Olympics.

    They have to air something and I don’t think they have anything that could repeat better than their 9pm comedy block.

  • KevinY

    Technically Sean Saves the World got a (0.85) so it should’ve adjusted up. And the Michael J Fox Show got a (0.76) so there is a clear separation. This site needs to find the more accurate numbers that they report on other sites.

    Oh and The Assets was a (0.66). If any other mid-season premiere gets close to that territory the network scripted industry is in trouble.

  • Phil

    Community has to reach its 6th season so they can then focus on a movie and syndication!

  • Ultima

    @KevinY
    Technically Sean Saves the World got a (0.85) so it should’ve adjusted up.

    Sean Saves the World had a 0.848 rating, that doesn’t round up to 0.9.

  • Tony JJ

    NBC should premiere Crisis or Believe on Thursdays, who cares if they have to go up against Grey’s and Scandal. Thursdays are so embarrassing for them.

  • starship

    I don’t see The Millers surviving this season if it doesn’t go up. Yes, retention doesn’t usually matter, but The Millers is 2.6 lower than its lead-in and when it moves next year, it’ll be at the same or lower level than the rest of their comedies. I’m sure they’ll test it a couple more times without BBT and if it fails to keep its current ratings, it’ll have to go.

  • Bonnie

    I love The Crazy Ones so much. I hope CBS gives it a chance and at least a partial season renewal. It does not fit in with the 3 other sitcoms it’s sandwiched between and needs a different time slot.

  • fakeem

    For those that care, CBS has already cancelled it’s lowest rated sitcom, that Monday @ 8:30 “men” show. Seems so long ago, doesn’t it?

    Parenthod? What is ParentHod?

    Sure wish ParenthOOd would go up more!
