Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2014 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved. You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101and Numbers 102.

    LMFAO! Oh lordy…

The firemen’s ratings have given birth to equally mediocre numbers for the police department. HAHA.

Cause yes, NBC… you were brilliant to go forward with a spin-off of a show that doesn’t even have long legs to stand on by itself. So instead of going to the drawing board and looking for a decent show with mass appeal that could improve your overall primetime average, you go the route of continued failure.

Hey bear… (it is cold enough that he must be awake and listening closely)
keep your belly empty enough to be ready to chew loudly on both firefighters and police officers between now and May. The former will be on your plate in May while the latter could be a snack at any point.

Though I gotta admit that just if and it is a BIG if- the PD is able to best the CFD ratings for a few weeks, that’s going to add to the hilarity of it all. It would be just like NBC to hurt the ratings of one mediocre show by doing a spin-off of it.

  • k:Alex

Good night for NBC, I hope Revolution can hold at least 1.5 next week

  • Shana

So happy for CPD such a good show…

  • American

Yeah for Chicago PD! Thought it was very riveting

  • René

great night for NBC, go Revolution! :D

  • Jeff (Canada)

So what’s the consensus on Chicago PD? I was avoiding it because I figure it would be like Chicago Fire (which to me is just Grey’s Anatomy With Fire). Is it gritty and manly?

  • Dan

Both Super Fun Night episodes were new last night.

  • Blanket-Man

Modern Family ratings not in yet?

  • Steve

    Awesome for Chicago PD!

  • Johnc

    @ Dante

If you do not like Chicago Fire or PD, please don’t watch. Many of us enjoy both shows.

  • Douglas from Brazil

NBC benefit of low competition from CBS,Where’s the number for Modern Family?

  • Al

Chicago PD did decent – but it’s not a great start ! It had no competition and SVU was hyped because of Save Benson. We have to wait Til next week.

  • psychic

Oh my god Dante shut up. I’m not even a Chicago Fire fan and your trolling is still grating on my nerves.

  • Tommy M.

For NBC CPD did very well. I can’t imagine they expected much more.

  • Edward

I suspect this is the second best 10pm premiere of the season out of all of the broadcast networks. Blacklist first then Chicago PD.

  • Ryan

Not too surprising to see Step Brothers show up on FOX as filler, every time it is run on FX Twitter blows up (haven’t seen FX ratings, but obviously good enough to warrant a FOX run or five)

  • s0303

Chicago pd a little higher than I thought…I’ve heard many people say it was really good, better than Chicago fire…I may check it out…

    good for revolution, svu…

I never even knew a show called stepbrothers even existed :) I guess a lot of other people didn’t either…

  • L

So pleased for Chicago PD and Sophia Bush.

  • Hardline_Pro

Revolution season 3 here we come!

  • psychic

Wait, did a repeat of Super Fun Night do better than an original episode on the same night?? Or am I seeing things?
