Soap do love bad weather! Quite impressive that B&B continues to excel. Amazing that it has keep this upward swing for over two years despite major casting changes, etc.

  • MBmomof3

Wow! Keep the momentum going GO SOAPS!

  • Bart

There was no bad weather last week – this polar vortex didn’t hit the US until that Sunday the 5th.

  • moshane58

Keep up the ratings on the soaps. And they said soaps where dead….Congrats CBS soaps…

“There was no bad weather last week”

Uh yes there was all on the East Coast, snowstorms.

  • Nashville

Bad weather for the increase? Why does there always have to be an excuse for an increase .. The ratings are up and its a good thing and it has nothing to do with weather, holidays or just because its sunny.

  • jamie

Might be the addition of Thorsten Kaye too the cast.

  • Mike

I’m sure the snow storms affected things just like they did in December. But whatever the reason I am happy for both Y&R and B&B.

The next weeks ratings should be good too as the big freeze affected parts of this week too.

  • Lynn

B&B is the soap to watch right now. Stellar cast, great writing and production values. It has far surpassed Y&R which continues to limp along under its new regime.

  • Edward

Brooke(Kathleen Lang) from Bold and the Beautiful. Is the centre piece of that show along with Dion Diamont. They’ve really done a great job of taking the reigns so happy for them and for soaps.

  • Derrick

    Go Y&R and B&B!!!!!!

Please quit using weather as an excuse!

  • Ginger Eliz

Go Jill Farren Phelps! She knows how to bring in the numbers! Fantastic ratings.

  • Marie H

Can the Michael Muhney fans remind us again just how Y&R is going to be worse off without him? Y&R is a beast! Repeats of Y&R get higher ratings than original episodes of other soaps.

This is JFP laughing her brains out at her critics. No matter whet her haters say she is bringing in the ratings.

  • pmr

FYI Michael Muhney and Billy Miller are still airing on Y&R thru Jan 30th. Let’s see the ratings for next month once the last two great actors depart. Not to mention the PR nightmare that Y&R, Producers, CBS and Sony are dealing with. Not too mention possible lawsuits for defamation from Michael and Hunter King.

  • Jonathan

How long till CBS picks up a new soap? Ratings seem to be on the up!

  • Jeff

    Good for the soaps!

  • Mike

The weather is not an excuse people. But you put more people at home during the day and the ratings go up. If those people are not at home then they can’t watch.

It is the same as holiday weeks — the ratings often go up because the people are at home.

Not an excuse — just a fact of life.

  • tj

Congrats to both soaps. That’s 2 press releases from CBS and 2 for NBC(DOOL) and 0 for ABC. Come on ABC, find the good and make a press release, it can’t be all bad.

  • robert

This is great news for the soaps.
