While Killer Women's premiere ratings weren't as woefully record setting as were The Assets, they were still woeful enough to mark it as certain to be canceled. Those who'll exclaim "But it's only an eight episode limited series!" should read this.

Those in denial that as a mini-series The Assets couldn't simply be yanked off the schedule, had reality intrude last week.

From now through the end of the broadcast season in May, the Renew/Cancel Index values will only be calculated using new episodes airing during 2014. However, until new episodes of a show air in 2014, the "old" Fall predictions will stay in the table.

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. You can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.
*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Do you really think that The Neighbors, Trophy Wife, and Super Fun Night will all be canceled? I think they”l choose to keep one. Between Trophy Wife and The Neighbors, I’m not sure which one it will be, but I see them trying to save one for spackle since comedies keep failing.

  • Nick.

Looks like it will be months before we get a good look at ABC as a whole. Many dramas are saved for March.

  • Pat

it looks like 8 of ABC’s 9 new shows are going to be cancelled. what a trainwreck of a season.

  • queeneeuq

The Neighbors would be renewed for sure.

  • Shepherd

Looks like it will be months before we get a good look at ABC as a whole.

I agree; it seems like almost anything could happen with ABC this season.

  • Little Miss Milly

Lucky 7 & Killer Women have both flopped in Tuesday. Body of Proof should not have been canceled and should be their to save their Tuesday nights, since S.H.I.E.L.D has become under whelming (less than 7 million).

ABC is probably having their worst season to date because of bad decisions, cancelation of BOP, Malibu Country & GCB are the biggest mistakes out their i think.

Malibu should be fridays at 8:30, BOP Tuesdays at 9 or 10, GCB sundays at 10.

  • Jeff (Canada)

On the bright side, Agents of SHIELD is almost guaranteed a renewal now. When you’re being chased by a bear, being slightly faster than the unhealthy kids will save your life.

  • Little Miss Milly

Super Fun Night won a teen choice, its chances of renewal have increased.

Killer Women & Lucky 7 are down to the curse of BOP. Never cancel a show with 10 million viewers, viewers the network desperately needs!

Anything ABC puts at 8 on Thursdays is going to be cancelled. They need to move an existing show their that already has an established audience. That would be a good slot for a show that skews older, i would suggest BOP, but thats canceled, perhaps castle?

  • Randy

    @Little Miss Milly

All of your credibility was lost when you said “Super Fun Night won a teen choice, its chances of renewal have increased.”

I really truly hope you were being sarcastic, otherwise you are just simply foolish.

  • Uofmguy423

@Milly – Agree on GCB. Never understood why that was cancelled when it was pulling 1.8 to Desperate Housewives mid 2s. Would have done well with a second season.

  • queeneeuq

SHIELD is going to suffer once TheVoice comes back and The Goldbergs too with the Superbowl-infused New Girl and the Voice-infused About a Boy. This itable is likely to change by March but what’s for sure is that Suburgatory is going to get renewed.

  • RESI

God this is it. There’s one drama left to debut I think and that’s resurrection (which doesn’t look like it’s jaw dropping) so ABC is pretty screwed. Oh well, as long as SHIELD and OUAT stay I don’t care.

  • queeneeuq

ABC should air reality shows on problem spots. The Taste/Wife Swap on thurrs at 8. The Bachelor/Dancing on Sundays Nashville could fo at tues at ten. Its renewed for a third and fourth season so the cpuld use that to plug. The Neighbors could go at tues at 9 and a new multicam on Fridays.

  • Jay Z

As long as Revenge/OUAT/Scandal/Greys/Modern Family get renewed I will be very happy. I just hope 10pm does not kill revenge.

  • queeneeuq

Here’s what the Abc comedy sched might look like next year:

    Tues. Goldbergs + Neighbors

Weds. Middle + Sub + Modern + New Com

    Fri LMS + New Com

Three new coms if one or both tank with half season for Sub just in case

  • queeneeuq

I forgot Mix might replace one of the new coms but that depends

  • Fred

    @Little Miss Molly

Are you serious? Super Fun Night won an award?

I think the show is cute, but shocked it won anything. Most viewers on these post hate the show and want it axed asap.

Still, silly awards like Teen Choice don’t help renew shows. Higher ratings do.

  • PurpleDrazi

    Best Bear picture ever!

No killer ratings for Killer Women guarantees cancellation

  • Malike

Idk what to say to ABC they can bring BOP back but then again they probably wont they should move Nashville and put it ontuesday @10 that would help mabey
