Monday Results:

  • With its first original telecast in six weeks, "The Blacklist" (2.5/7 in adults 18-49, 9.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) decisively won the hour among ABC, CBS and ABC in adults 18-49, more than doubling CBS’s time-period premiere of “Intelligence” (1.1/3) and topping ABC’s “Castle” (1.9/5) by a 26% margin.  In the time period, “The Blacklist” was #1 or tied for #1 in every key measure among those dramas.

  • “The Blacklist” scored the #1 drama rating of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 and was also the #1 drama in total viewers.

  • “The Blacklist” was up 67% in 18-49 versus NBC’s January 2013 average in the time period, also without a “Voice” lead-in (2.5 vs. 1.5), and was up 113% or 4.8 million persons in total viewers (9.113 million vs. 4.285 million).

  • L+7 Time-Shifting: “The Blacklist” is a heavily time-shifted series, with fourth-quarter originals adding 2.1 rating points or 68% on average to these next-day “live plus same day” ratings when Nielsen issues “live plus seven day” results (to a 5.2 from a 3.1), and growing by 6.1 million viewers overall (17.2 million persons vs. 11.1 million).

  • From 8-10 p.m. ET, "American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. Japan" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) scored “Ninja Warrior’s” highest rating since July 23, 2012, beating every telecast from this past summer.

  • In the time period, "American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. Japan" ranked #1 among the Big 4 nets in men 18-34.  For its second hour from 9-10 p.m., "American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. Japan" pulled within 0.2 of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 (with a 2.1 rating vs. a 2.3 for CBS and ABC).

  • For its fourth half-hour from 9:30-10 p.m., "American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. Japan" moved ahead of Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” and CBS’s “Mom” in adults 18-49 (with a 2.2 rating vs. a 2.1 that half-hour for Fox and CBS).

  • Despite the absence of “The Voice” from its lineup, NBC finished in a four-way tie for #1 Monday among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 (2.1 rating each, pending updates) and NBC ranked #1 outright among those nets in men 18-49 (2.1).

I love the Blacklist, great, great show. With the strength of it and Castle, you would think CBS would go in a different direction during that hour. Hostages (while not as good as the Blacklist) was not a bad show and Intelligence isn’t either but CBS is getting creamed.

Good numbers considering the absence of The Voice. But now I’m kinda worried for The Blacklist because it made a 2.5 from a 1.9 compatible lead-in and next week it will be after a comedy-ish and weaker special show (Hollywood Game Night). Hopefully it will rise.

    That’s gotta smart for CBS.

Finally writers and actors that don’t give the plot away. Love the show each episodes leaves me wanting more… PS: I normally don’t like TV shows..
