via NBC press note:

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

  • In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4.

  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

  • From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

  • At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for  live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I just want a third season of CF. Good thing NBC is a mess. It’s almost guaranteed to be renewed since their bar is so low. *fingers crossed*

  • dave

Hard for Chicago fire it has the best show on tv up against it in Poi….

  • Dante

LMFAO @ the NBC press release title…

‘Chicago Fire’ With No ‘Voice’ Lead-in, Runs Within Two Tenths of the 10 PM Lead

    HA HA.

So, we are now making it a point to grade the show’s ratings on a curve taking into account it has no Voice in front of it. Smart thinking NBC. Good press release.

  • Shepherd

Poor ABC. The Assets may have been low, but at least it was more stable than Killer Women! ;) I wonder what they will do now. At least AoS was steady.

I had a feeling that CF would drop, but I actually expected it to fall a little more. I just can’t imagine any of CF’s male fans who enjoyed CPD sticking with CF over CPD. (If they didn’t have room for both in their TV week). I really think CPD has a good chance at beating CF this week.

CBS super steady. Good for POI.

  • milo

“continues to prove that little ol’ me is right on point”

If by that you mean “hey, everyone please forget that my predictions are wrong week after week just because I got lucky one time”.

A stopped clock is right once a day. Or to put it another way, if you throw enough s**t at the wall, something is bound to finally stick.

But hey, I guess one right out of ten is better than none right out of ten.

  • THE OLD MAN

CBS takes another Weds & NCIS is the only 3.0 of the night–nice stats for LA & POI

NBC The Biggest Loser matches last week’s season low & this week is joined by a season low for CF, no 2.0’s to be found

Entire FOX slate is down save NG, even w/ last week’s season low 1.6–highest for night, no 2.0’s here either

AOS holds steady 2.2 for ABC, but TG ticks up to 1.8 while TW matches season low 1.1 & KW slips to 0.7, the lowest ever for a Tues night–next time Sophia asks, “just say NO!”

And TO & SPN both down from last orig’s, but 0.9/1.0 not bad for the CW

  • Braddock

Just to pique my curiosity I watched Fire and contrary to what this Dante guy says it’s actually a pretty decent show.

  • Michael Scott

I thought B99 gets some boost from Golden Globes…But the truth is not.

  • Dochas

TO was good last night so I really hope the ratings tick up. Supernatural was great. It started off winning for me with a favorite Bob Seger classic and Dean. It’s all I needed.
I really like the comfort factor of Chicago Fire but they need to cut characters. Badly. The continuity is not there. The acts are all over the place.
POI – I really just like to watch character interactions. I don’t care about the story right now. I need to see more Root.

Dante might be why my virus protection goes hinky when I click on this site. It’s inconceivable that he is the first comment, always. I’m assuming he sits in front of his computer with an idiotic statement ready to copy and paste. All he has to do is refresh every 2 seconds until ratings are updated. Left hand on the F5, right hand on the copy/paste click.

  • xwiseguyx

Oh my, it looks like Shark Tank reruns will be added on Tuesday as well as Wed now.. or is it Thursday? I lose track of all of ABC’s failures..

  • Ci_Wall

@Dante didn’t your precious little POI just get a 1.9 a couple of episodes ago?
How is that any better considering CF has been consistently out rating POI this season?

  • morrigan_2575

I would have liked The Originals and Supernatural to come back from hiatus even but I’m OK with Supernatural not falling bellow a 1.0. The Originals hitting 0.9 and less than 2 million is a bit upsetting. Hopefully it adjusts up or comes back up next week.

  • DougF

According to Berman’s half hours Supernatural had a weird Half Hour split or it was an error on his behalf

    0.7 1.69
    1.0 2.23

Not sure how a show has half hours like that and ends up 1.0/2.26. Probably an error on his part.

  • Lem

    @Dante
‘Ya know, it IS okay to admit a fellow poster (me) is right. Doesn’t take much but a quick swallow of humble pie.’

still waiting where were you last week when you were wrong about your CF and CPD predictions. Me thinks that you need to swallow that humble pie and choke on in so the rest of the posters don’t have to listen to you.

  • Michael Scott

So basically Dante is a loser who tries to destroy STEADY CF in his whole life. Pathetic.

  • Ultima

    @Michael Scott
Dante is a bitch. I don’t care every bulls* he said.

You obviously care, otherwise you would ignore him and not comment.

Looks like you’re the one full of BS!

  • johnhelvete

Dante is always first because he probably works for this site.

  • Jordan

@Dante Why do you make it a point to bash on Chicago Fire week after week? Nothing else better to do than sit behind your computer as an anonymous poster to start drama and feel important? No importance in the real world, maybe? Get a life. Seriously. I don’t watch Chicago Fire but your comments are ridiculous. Why point out CF’s “low ratings” when there are nine other shows that had a lower rating last night?

  • John

They’re really trying to make Brooklyn 99 happen, but it’s just not happening.

  • Potato

    @Dante–

Okay, Chicago Fire is not a hit. It is also not a failure. It is a trucking along, middle of the road show. Frankly, that’s true in terms of quality as well. The people on this site aren’t angry at you for hating it, they are baffled that you have such a vendetta against a show that is so, well, bland. I personally, as someone who watched it for a time and then stopped because I got bored, am legitimately curious what you hate so much about it
