Although DAYS has some good story right now, the historic low temperatures in the Northeast undoubtedly help lift Live+Same Day viewing totals for all of daytime TV last week.

  • Derrick

Soap Operas are here to stay………Go DAYS!!!!

  • Angel

All of these numbers are season to date, but what is the breakdown of actual viewers based on last week? It seems to only be about a demo and not actual total viewers numbers. Where are those numbers?

Something about this press release isn’t adding up with the numbers.

Congrats Days! I’m loving this show. It’s my #1 daytime show. Hope the trend continues so they end on a high when the Olympics start.

I think it is completely disingenuous that instead of posting the actual ratings for last week you’ve posted an article about how Days has had overall higher ratings than it has had in years. I find the fact that everyone else has released their week numbers with day-by-day breakdown, and yet NBC won’t, suspicious. I find the fact that instead of actually asking them to cough up the numbers but instead helping them snow readers into believing these numbers to be the numbers for last week a serious breach of journalistic integrity.

    Good for Days!

  • Bexx

    Congrats to DOOL.

I wonder how much of this is due to soapnet going away and there is no reair later in the day

Congratulations DAYS! EJ, Abby, Lucas, Kate, Nicole, Eric, Rafe, Jordan, Brady…. Just goes to show that DAYS has other characters that many are interested in seeing. Status quo is no longer acceptable. DAYS needed to shake it up and it paid off with this demo at least.

Demos are all networks care about. That’s what sells advertisers.

  • tanya

okay im gonna be frank but we know your rankings are dropping and that pairing with ej and that girl *gag* if it continues then i will no longer be a fan of days anymore. ej and sami are meant to be together then the writers go and screw that up for the fans of ejami. please who are you all fooling here please answer me that question cause i would love to know who you all fooling

  • solverex

Go Days! Ej & Abigail together is a pretty weird creepy pairing but since this is Days after all I give it a pass.
Happy to see audience viewing up…The only thing that annoys me is that spineless sanctimonious Jennifer Horton who’s character needs to get a life.

  • MC

Where are the Day-by-day ratings? Why weren’t they released? Isn’t that normal protical?

  • moshane58

    Congrats Days….

DAYS has been on fire lately, to the point where I have to watch it live instead of letting it add to my DVR. For fans of Ej and Sami, calm the f@!k down! It’s a soap opera and there needs to be drama. If everyone were happy all the time the show would be a snooze rest! Days has it right, for now anyway. Hope there are many cliffhangers before the show goes on hiatus, due to the Olympics.

But wasn’t the ratings for “Days” supposed to drop like a stone because of the way that the producers treated actor Chandler Massey (ex-Will)?? Weren’t Massey’s fans boycotting the soap until he was re-hired (ignoring the fact that Massey wasn’t fired…he opted not to renew his contract, his call, not the show’s).

Typically, press releases do not contain the daily numbers. Those are included with the soap ratings posted elsewhere on this site. NBC isn’t trying to hide anything…those numbers will be posted, eventually. The press release clearly says that “Days” had 3 million viewers for the week of January 6, 2014, up from 2.6 million viewers one year earlier.

    Congrats Days.

Folks TV By the Numbers has nothing to do with press releases. These are done by the networks and sent out to the outlets. No one asks for these specific numbers. It is whatever the networks want to highlight and to spin. Nielsen sends the networks the full numbers, and if they are good enough to spin the networks do that. And they spin whatever of the numbers they want to.

All that TV By the Numbers does is release them.

They don’t even pay for them. And they definitely don’t charge us for them. We get them for free.

    Good for all soaps.
I missed that week because there was little to no movement in the Nick plot. Nick should come back and cause havoc and take down the Dimera Enterprise.
Also I agree Ej and Abby is a creepy mix….not too long ago she was with his brother which happens to be the same brother that took two bullets for him. Chad would be running to town once he heard this. Bring the character back.

I didnt know people were threatening to not watch once Chandler left.

And ratings for DOOL for 2009/2010 soared to over 3 million when people thought Marlena was obssessed again with the devil but come to find out she had been brainwashed. Ratings SOARED after fans were entertained and shocked to see all these characters being killed off, but they weren’t really killed off…they were all sent to some island and kept as prisoners. after that ratings started to fall because it really jumped the shark. I enjoyed it though. Esp all the scenes prior to learning about everyone being alive on the island. Gran being murdered by having her mouth stuffed with her own doughnuts….classic! Thank God she wasn’t really murdered but that was pretty macabre!

  • John Black

Ok, my bad…this storyline occurred in 2004/2005 season I believe. Not sure why ratings skyrocketed now in 2009/2010. Maybe Will Horton coming out? Kate and Stephano being together? I don’t know.
