    i can’t believe that The Michael J Fox Show is still on the air.

  • rob60990

    Those ratings for MJF are scary bad.

    Shark Tank rerun doubled The Assets.

  • AlanHalliwell

    Well Community and Parks still did fairly well and Compeition from Big Bang usually doesn’t effect community so Fingers Crossed

    I read on the previous thread some people still lauding AI’s performance as being still good. Technically, it is but the fact is that it’s trending down and is down considerably over last year already. And the audition episodes are quite often the higher rated ones until it comes down to the finale. That doesn’t speak well of the enduring popularity.

    Also does anybody know why CBS chose to air all repeats last night against the Thursday premiere of AI? They ran new episodes on Jan. 2nd which seemed odd to me. Any ideas?

    American Idol is an okay show. Don’t get the HUGE mass appeal but whatever. The Voice is way cooler. AI’s format is boring and pretty stale.

  • John

    @Gary A
    Probably because it didn’t want its comedies to compete with Idols premiere week.

  • Mathew k

    Sean did better than Michael good!

  • Nick.

    @Gary A

    I’m guessing to avoid being hit by AI. The entire NBC line-up sinks against AI so they were right to air only repeats.

  • Dan

    @Mathew k, that will not save Sean from certain cancellation.

  • TVMed

    They bought 22 eps of MJF with an expensive commitment. Probably too expensive not to air them.

    CBS had to space out episodes likely. All sitcoms get two weeks off in production during the holidays.

  • Scott

    I’m still not getting into American Idol like I used to though I do congratulate the new produces on making the show overall much, much better from last year.

    WITH RATINGS FOR IDOL: Bottomline is, it’s an aging reality series. There’s nothing FOX can do no matter what judges/format changes. AI’s peak was from 2003 to 2008, give or take, while The Voice is peaking now and all other talent competition shows (AGT, X Factor, SYTYCD, Dancing with the Stars) are dwindling down too.

  • Dan

    @TVMed, their commitment to MJF includes airing all the shows. That does’t mean the last ones might not end up airing Saturday nights though.

  • TVMAN

    LOL @ NBC. I’m sorry, but who ever thought a Sean Hayes and Michael J Fox comedy block would bring in young viewers should get fired.

  • saw

    nbc comedies are disaster! It’s shameful. Next week 2 TBBT episodes – one at 8 and ine at 9pm. And nbc want to waste the voice lead in for comedies again??? what a joke.

  • StevenD

    I really wish that NBC would pull the 9-10 block already. Put Crossbones or Maya Rudolph’s sketch comedy show and Undateable there

  • Shepherd

    I love it! Total viewers for AI adjusts down, but the demo adjusts up. Perhaps it was on just a wee bit past its audience’s bedtime.

  • John A

    I can understand why MJF was given a comedy but that awful Sean Hayes? No idea what NBC were thinking.

  • saw

    NBC will be biggest idiots in the world if not move alfonso cuarón show on thursday at 9pm. On sunday at 9 vs TWD and GoT both genre shows will be worst idea. Cuarón is BEST director right now(better than spielberg) and 99.9% will take oscar for best director(take all awards until now for best director) for gravity and that should boost his directed & created tv show. Also on thursday all shows are disaster not name TBBT. Greys is low Scandal is 18 ep and rake is not competition for Cuaron genre.

    In general NBC thursday comedy block is DEAD! THIS IS REALITY! Everything else is HISTORY! SORRY NBC!

  • Scott

    Since ‘American Idol’ is doing badly, not that I want this other FOX singing competition show back but with AI’s ratings down, what are the chances for a fourth season of X Factor?

  • CrimTV

    @Scott

    AI gets a 3.9 in January, X Factor gets mid 1’s in the fall! This changes nothing in terms of The X Factor and AI isn’t doing badly.
