    Awesome!

after hearing about this show for a while, I decided to watch the first couple of episodes. It was OK I guess, but I don’t really get it. Why do so many people rave about this show?

  • Boo Hoo Go Home & Cry Now

@richard because they masturbate to the show! If the ponies were male, I guarantee no one over the age of five would be watching! They are a bunch of sickos who like to masturbate to female horses!

Heh, I do believe it partly is the cute, female thing. The characters are very cute, and for a lot of people that makes the jokes funnier, the characters more sympathetic, and the drama more compelling.

Personally for me it’s also kind of an event horizon of awesomeness. People starting making great fanworks, attracting more people, who made more fanwork… now a lot of ‘fans’ barely even watch the actual show.

@richard: The show starts fairly slowly in some ways. For example, the song in episode 2 is nowhere *near* the quality you get later in the first season. I took until episode 7 to decide I wanted to stick with the show. Not to say that everyone will ever like it, obviously, but a lot of people who are now big fans didn’t love it instantly.
