Updated with FOX's press release:

ENLISTED” MARCHES TO FRIDAYS AT 9:00 PM

BEGINNING JANUARY 24, ON FOX

Raising Hope Moves to 9:30 PM

Beginning this Friday, Jan. 24, ENLISTED moves to its new time period (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), following BONES (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Raising Hope moves to 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT.

A military-set family comedy, ENLISTED stars Geoff Stults (“The Finder”), Chris Lowell (“Veronica Mars”) and Parker Young (“Suburgatory”) as three brothers who, when the best of the best are sent overseas, stay behind to try to keep the post in order. The series also stars Emmy Award winner Keith David (“Cloud Atlas,” “The Cape”) and Angelique Cabral (“Friends with Benefits”).

In “Pete’s Airstream,” the all-new time period premiere episode of ENLISTED, airing Friday, Jan. 24 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), Pete tries to distance himself from his brothers and the platoon, which, of course, backfires.

In “Thrilla in Natesvilla,” the all-new time period premiere episode of Raising Hope (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virginia (Martha Plimpton) try to help Barney (Gregg Binkley) and Maxine’s (guest star Molly Shannon) budding relationship, and in the process, end up in a fight.

Previously:

FOX's  freshman comedy Enlisted is moving from Friday at 9:30PM to Friday at 9PM. The critically acclaimed comedy has struggled in the ratings, with last week's episode falling to a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating from a 0.7 for its premiere. The  move will give the show a stronger lead-in, Bones. Its previous lead-in, Raising Hope,  will now move to 9:30.Executive producer  Mike Royce tweeted the news.

Enlisted would be a great Disney Channel show, with too much predictable humor.

Wont help anyway its dead. If Raising Hope couldnt benefit from Bones lead in then this wont.

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Yeah, this happened a couple weeks too late.

  • Ross

Which night will Kitchen Nightmares air next month?

  • CBSviewer

    FOX tries to save Enlisted.

  • Dan

@HalCapone – That Ship has sailed.

Raising Hope is clearly dead and just a syndication train for FOX at this point. Enlisted will probably air its full season but FOX would rather have it get the better lead in than low rated Raising Hope. Either way both shows are done by May.

Its a shame because if this were next season (with this seasons new comedies) Dads could have gotten the 9:30 Sunday slot with AD off to TBS, and Enlisted and Brooklyn 9-9 could have paired well Tuesdays for a better hour. Raising Hope and Surviving Jack could have paired for a better Friday.

Oh well, hopefully no more comedies on Friday for FOX next season. If Mindy Project gets renewed than I would say that FOX tries 2 new comedies 1 9:30 Sunday and 1 9:30 Tuesday and have B99, The Mindy Project and New Girl lead off the Tuesday night.

@Ross – KN is not scheduled yet but my guess is that when Almost Human ends on March 3, FOX will move Bones back to Mondays so they can give KN the 8pm Friday slot. If FOX was smart than they would pull Bones from Fridays now, schedule KN for a Friday February return and then schedule Bones’ return for March 10 so they can have more new episodes to air Mondays rather than Fridays.

  • Ross

@Dan Kitchen Nightmares has all but been confirmed to return in February.

  • Ross

Gordon Ramsay said on Twitter it will be back next month.

  • Dan

@Ross – When will it return?

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Is it true that FOX and ABC use a room full of chimpanzees on typewriters to produce their schedules?

  • Dan

OK well hopefully FOX does the smart thing and after Bones’ January 31st airing, they hold off on new episodes until March 10 after AH finishes its season that way Kitchen Nightmares can return to Fridays in February.

15 episodes will have aired for Bones this season with 9 left. If FOX returns it on March 10 than they can air it repeat free for 9 weeks ending on May 4 and the Following could have a 2 hour finale May 11.

  • Dan

Actually 24 Live Another Day will premiere May 5 and The Following will finish on April 28 so Bones could air at 8 through May 11.

    @AllOfHerTwist

I doubt ABC even uses a typewriter, more like a Magic 8 Ball…

  • Ross

I think KN would lead-in Bones like it did for Fringe.

Last time a show was a lead-in for KN it tanked (Human Target)

  • cimmer

Sad, Enlisted deserved better, someone’s feeling guilty. Hope it helps even though it’s probably DOA but then, this is FOX and I’ve always said they sometimes make decisions like a cable channel rather than a broadcast one.

  • Ram510

Doesn’t Enlisted basically have little to no chance of being renewed, why move the show now?

    Better Off Ted was great!

  • iSayso

I wish the Cancellation Bear would host “Primetime Nightmares” in which he provides critical advice on saving TV shows and then devours the showrunner at the end.

  • HalCapone

    @baja7475
[Why move Dads to Friday at 9:30 when the ratings are almost as Brooklyn 99. Especially when it’s way funnier. Just because the critics like b99 doesn’t mean it’s good. b99 is like a bad barney miller]

Full disclosure, baja, I don’t like Enlisted, B-99, or Dads but I dislike Enlisted the least. Andy Samberg just doesn’t work for me at all here or anywhere; his Golden Globe win is a major mind f__k, imho and yes, B-99 is not even remotely in the same league as Barney Miller. Friday is where all marginal scripted programming goes to either languish or die. FOX obviously has high hopes (or compromising blackmail photos w/r/t B-99) so I suspect it will be returning next year. Enlisted just seems more compatible with what I imagine is the B-99 target audience and Tuesday is a bigger viewing night. While NBC has the absolute worst comedy perf this year, FOX is not too far behind.

Because the move might improve the ratings?
