    @The Old Man
    Amazing NFL numbers!

    If the Super Bowl is a close game, I think that 50.0 HH rating might actually be within reach this year! :)

  • Why Watch

    I’ve given up on Revenge based on the lame past year and a half worth of episodes. By March I will have forgotten about it and moved onto much better things.

  • tv_viewer

    The Following’s lead-in was the post game show, not the NFC championship game.

    Last year:

    AFC championship game: 16.8 (1/20/2013)
    AFC post game show: 9.1 (1/20/2013)
    Hawaii 5-O: 3.5 (1/20/2013)
    Hawaii 5-O: 2.3 (1/21/2013)

    My predictions for January 27, 2014:

    The Following season 2 premiere (repeat at 8 pm) : 1.3
    The Following season 2 episode 2 (9 pm) : 2.6

    The prelims said that the ratings for The Following were already adjusted and those would be the final ratings. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what ratings The Following had prior to the adjustments?

    Out of curiosity, does anyone know what ratings The Following had prior to the adjustments?

    The preliminary rating for the 10:30pm half hour (The Following in ET/CT, local programming in PT) was a 3.6/10 with 8.99 million viewers.

    I just have a question. If syndication was a sure thing for a season four, why wasn’t it renewed (Revenge) for two seasons last May?

  • Ultima

    @Steve A
    I just have a question. If syndication was a sure thing for a season four, why wasn’t it renewed (Revenge) for two seasons last May?

    So that they have the options of cost-cutting or even cancelling the series depending on how it performs this season.

    At this point, renewal is certain, but it wasn’t necessarily last May.

  • Steve A

    @Ultima I know. I just wanted to make a point that this season’s ratings mattered. I could honestly go either way bc I couldn’t see myself caring about it in a few years

  • RTV

    Syndication won’t save Revenge. If it gets renewed it will be more about ABC’s dismal year/lack of pilots.

    Somebody give me an example of a heavily serialized show that not only got a syndication deal (on a network that would actual make the cost worth it)but has the ratings to justify it.

    There is no SoapNet- who even wants Revenge reruns?

    LOST bombed in syndication
    The Good Wife took forever to get a deal
    How often do you see repeats of 24?

  • brutony!

    RTV is correct-I love Revenge, but how the hell would it make magabucks in syndication? Its not doing well AT ALL on Sundays-neither is The Good Wife-yet these two nets continually schedule them opposite each other, on the busiest night of the week! Also, Revenge DOES have to step up it up a smidge, with hotter women, and more flashbacks and scenes and not just story telling, such as what Victoria did the other night, with her lame long-winded retelling of what happened to her at 16 instead of showing us!

  • Brian

    REVENGE IS DEAD ..face it all you Revenge denial fools!

  • Jerry

    Revenge may not do well in syndication, but really the only shows doing well in syndication are the one you saw on cable ratings: TBBT, Law & order, MF, Castle, Family guy. Whether or not the show does well in syndication is another question. As long as there is a syndication deal, a show will be able to cut losses from a poor rated 3rd and 4th season. Fringe, Chuck, Til Death, The Good wife are all bubble shows that got helped by syndication or even the prospect of it. It doesn’t matter how it bombs in syndication, they just need the deal to earn the money. Fringe got syndicated, so did Gossip Girl and Scandal, and we all know how serialized Gossip Girl and fringe are. But I think Revenge is performing at a level for ABC that at its worst puts it on a bubble. And at best puts it at likely renewal, even without the syndication factor. With the syndication factor, it is safely off the bubble and certain to be renewed.

    So The Following adjusted up from 3.6 to 4.4?

  • diana

    revenge just needs the deal for syndication if syndication had the power to even save nikita then im pretty sure syndication will save it

  • diana

    @why watch
    we get that you don’t like the show anymore why bash it?

  • diana

    i agree as much i love revenge i rather have the fourth season as the final season just so they could wrap things up on the bright it will give us a full season a tighter storyline’s and more action. i mean its better that way for it rather then having drag out for a few more seasons and then get cancelled due to low ratings without a wrap up of the show.
