ABC needs all new executives. They easily could have had the best season of any network if they had scheduled things correctly.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

Trophy Wife is hurt more by its poor name than scheduling. It cannot hold 2/3rds of the Goldbergs rating and tied the last episode of the Neighbors. It’s a pretty good show, but it does not deserve the post Modern Family slot. I think ABC will end its season early like the Neighbors last year and bring back the Dancing Results Show

Can TW go any lower? NG still didn’t crack a 2.0.

  • Raffie

Guess Fox can feel kinda good about going into the SB, but I still think the bump has as much to do with the repeat competition as anything. If The Goldberg’s were a repeat, I bet New Girl would’ve been in the low 2s.

What was ABC doing? They give The Goldberg’s heavy promotion all winter, finally get it to pull ahead of New Girl, only to rip its lead and watch it tumble? With New Girl getting a potential SB rub and About A Boy getting The Voice as a lead in, those 1.8s may be a thing of the past.

Lol, if Shield was new last night ABC could’ve been like “ha ha, haters, top show of the night!”

  • Tony JJ

ABC missed a huge opportunity of airing Shield opposite NCIS repeat. It would’ve helped out goldbergs and trophy wife. And shield would have been the only show over a 2.0.

The CW is doing beastly on Tuesdays. I don’t know if they should break this duo up or not next season.

Trophy Wife needs PROMOTION. The only reason I have hope is because it’s produced by ABC studios. But I’m praying they give it a good promo push soon.

I still don’t know why fox is putting glee on at Tuesdays at 8. It’s going to get killed. I see originals beating glee most times.

Trophy Wife premiered back in Sept with a 2.3 rating and over 6 mil viewers. Since then, it’s steadily fallen to half that audience so blaming it on scheduling or the show’s title is a poor excuse in my opinion.

People know it’s there. They just don’t want to watch it and putting it after Modern Family isn’t going to force viewers to suddenly tune in. The show deserves to be put out of it’s misery.

  • Alex

im a big fan of trophy wife, but abc needs to do something with this show. maybe bringing back the dwts results show for a half hour to fill its place or something i don’t know. but a .9 is terrible.

The Originals shows a series high

    Huge jump for Brooklyn 9-9.

Why does ABC air The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife with a repeat lead-in? Oh why do I even ask?

  • jeezlearnsumthin

Does everyone here work on Trophy Wife?

Seems like it… until May! :)

I could see the Glee experiment backfiring big time. Why put a high school musical-dramedy opposite The Voice? It is really, really putting New Girl in a terrible spot. The Goldberg’s already has an audience, and it will be getting something in the area of a 2.0 lead in from Shield. Don’t know if About A Boy will be any good, but it may not have to be since it’ll be getting a 3.5-4.0 lead in from The Voice. What do we expect Glee to be getting? I’d be surprised if it gets the 1.5-1.6 Brooklyn Nine Nine usually gets. I know Fox is all about the DVR crap, but this move looks questionable.

On the bright side, Brooklyn Nine Nine should absolutely crush Trophy Wife.

  • Dan

Wow it’s sad that a great comedy like Trophy Wife has to flop on ztuesdays while a failed bad comedy like Super Fun Night wastes the post Modern Family slot.

And ABC wonders why they haven’t had a successful comedy since Modern Family and The Middle.

  • Dan

@Territorial – Glee is also against PLL, AOS and Originals so a lot of competition. But seriously where else would Fox put it? Rake is in Thursdays, Fridays are bad, Idol has Wed. They wouldn’t try Mondays when Almost Human ends. For the second year in a row the Tuesday block as crumbled so the solution, end Dads early, have B99 and Mindy timeshare the 9:30 slot and keep New Girl at 9 so Tues at 8 is repeat free as is 9:30 and New Girl may only have a few repeats at 9 depending on how many episodes Fox decides to produce.

Glee is ending next season so honestly ratings don’t really matter the show peaked ratings wise in Season 2 and has declined ever since so hopefully it has a good last season next year.

THE ORIGINALS and SUPERNATURAL are such Tuesday Night Monsters! Expecting ORIGINALS to hit 1.3+ for its finale. Its on a roll.

WOW at Supernatural… Most-viewed episode in like 3 years!

  • Territorial

Yeah, I suppose the options are limited for Fox. Still would’ve thought they’d have some interest in keeping most of the surprisingly lucrative adrates New Girl pulls by giving it some help. But I get trying to ‘break’ Rake and trying to see what they have in Almost Human. I think the only move that might make sense would be flipping Glee to Friday and moving Bones to Tuesday, but since the latter is actually performing decent where it is, they prob don’t want to mess with it.

I love my Tuesdays for the first time in years. TO to SPN to P of I. From nothing to watch to heavenly. This went from my worst night of TV to my best. I’ll grieve next year when they (inevitably) move SPN to fix Monday. VD should be the show that new shows want to follow, but based on the numbers, a new show should be praying to precede SPN.
Yes, that the Bimbo Wife is going, going, gone. As I said on another thread, the critics loved this show, but failed to set forth who would actually be watching this show. Who? Young, future trophy wives? No, they are out there seeking their meal ticket. Can’t blame them for that. Trophy husband? Better chance, but they are too busy making money to support their bimbos. Families? Do you really want to sell to your son or daughter that marriage is a joke that ends with an older man replacing his age appropriate, professional wife with a younger ditz, and then replacing the ditz with a younger bimbo? Women? No XX chromosome who is sentient. Yes, and gay marriage is hurting the institution of marriage (sarcasm). This show is a direct attack on females and the institution of marriage with Mr. Serial Husband. I look forward to its demise.

B99 is so funny if cancelled Fox executive’s may have firefly-ed it again.
