FOX's drama pilot The Middle Man, which already had an order for several additional scripts and was considered a near-lock fr moving forward to series, is now on hold. According to Deadline, director Ben Affleck is now unavailable because of a scheduling conflict with the movie Batman Vs. Superman. Affleck, to the consternation of much of the internet, is playing Batman. FOX is deciding whether to wait until Aflleck is available or find another director. Affleck is also one of the project's executive producers.

I thought I read that this movie has been pushed back to 2015. The old “scheduling conflict” excuse might indeed be factual but it is often used as a smokescreen for something less innocuous and legitimate. Something just seems a little off with this announcement.

Ah… yeah… HalCapone’s right. Something is rotten in Benmark.

According to Deadline they’re still filming the Man of Steel sequel as scheduled before the premiere date change.

Maybe they should get a new director for the pilot and if “Middle Man” becomes a series, bring in Ben Affleck to direct a couple of Season One episodes when he’s available to do so.
