TV Ratings Friday: 'Bones', 'Enlisted' & 'Dracula' Rise, 'Shark Tank' Hits High, 'Grimm' Steady

ABC was number one in adults 18-49 while CBS was on top with total viewers.

On ABC, Last Man Standing matched last week's 1.4 adults 18-49 rating.  The Neighbors notched a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating even with last week’s performance . Shark Tank earned a season high 2.2 up 5 percent from last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. 20/20 garnered a season high 1.9 up 12 percent from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and ranking as the show’s highest rated episode among adults 18-49 since March 30, 2012.

On FOX, Bones notched a 1.8 up 20 percent from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. In its new 9PM timeslot, Enlisted earned a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating up 67 percent from a 0.6 last week at 9:30PM. Your predictions were too pessimistic.  At 9:30PM, Raising Hope scored a 0.8 up 14 percent from last week's 0.7 adults 18-49 rating at 9PM. 

On NBC, Dateline earned a 1.4 down 7 percent from last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.   Grimm matched last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. Dracula garnered a 1.0 up 11 percent  from last week’s 0.9 adults 18-49 rating

On The CW, The Carrie Diaries earned a 0.3 down 25 percent from last week's 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

  • In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.2/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/5 with an encore.
  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/3 with an encore.
  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.5/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
  • From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.9/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
  • At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    I’m confused by FOX’s treatment of Raising Hope. MaskedScheduler (on twitter) is forever begging viewers to watch Bones and Enlisted but never mentions RH. He also reports on how both shows did the next day but again, never brings up RH. Is it simply a case of RH being in season four and FOX not worrying about it due to syndication? Bones is in a similar part (syndication I mean) yet he tweets about that. Why ignore RH so much?

    Everything seems to have done well, I wonder if the weather played any part in that. Too bad Dracula couldn’t go higher. 0.3 doesn’t help TCD, but the season average is so entrenched around 0.3 that a 0.4 or 0.5 wouldn’t have moved the average much anyway. I’m still in disbelief over enlisted 1.0! :shock:

    Nice uptick for Bones, it still has pulling power for both itself and sibling Enlisted as shown by the numerous twts and promos by Bones cast/crew this past week. Fox has got to be dancing in the aisles today.

    Hope is in its 4th Season, it’s not a flop.

    Enlisted aired it’s THIRD episode.

    Neither will be back next year but calling a show which has enough episodes for syndication a flop is stupid. But you often make comments like that.

    Shark Tank is a monster. I’m not going to the calculation but it looks like Tuesday barely out rated Friday this week. Definitely worth noting for the programming heads.

    2.2 is not a series high for Shark Tank. It got a 2.3 the night Malibu Country premiered. It is a season high.

    Masked is funny. He also talks up the new shows will always fail. I noticed he never mentioned Hope but did so for Enlisted and Bones. We all know Enlisted won’t be back next year.

    @Dante Pretty confused about Fox/Masked treatment of RH too. Very disrespectful to that show, its still on the air and has been for 4 years. Very much doubt Enlisted will make it that far.

    “Dracula” finale was outstanding! I hope That There Will be another season as it is an international coproduction which means it doesn t cost NBC too much.

    RH is dead, Masked Scheduler isn’t going to waste time on it.

    Bones could easily do another 2 or 3 seasons on Friday if they really want to. I suspect if next season is the last it is because everyone involved calls it a day not for ratings reasons.

    Nice for Enlisted, probably wont be enough to save it but Geoff deserves some decent ratings.

    I’m semi impressed Enlisted cracked 1.0 at 9pm. It helped that there was no new H50 last night I suppose. I hate to start watching a new show that will likely get yanked. Could it pull off a Brooklyn 99 ?

    It’s kind of amazing to see ratings as good if not better than what other networks see on Fridays, Fox included, for Bones. Maybe networks don’t need to give up on this night.

    I wonder if Enlisted might be saved because Fox will want something more male oriented to pair wither BNN or Surviving Jack with, assuming one of them survives. It’s got great reviews, and while that might not normally be enough, it can’t hurt. I could see a comedy block being opened up on either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what happens with TXF.

    @Dante – I imagine he likes to play up to the Bones and Enlisted fanbases … I’m a Bones girl so I tend to notice the rabid tweets he gets from that fandom. Not sure how present the Raising Hope fanbase is on social media, or even towards him. I doubt very little on the latter.

    Nice little tick up for Bones while Undercover Boss was on repeat. I’ll take it.

    Enlisted pulled a 1.0 out of 1.8 (maybe higher for that second half hour) opposed repeats on CBS and CW, not sure that’s anything to get really excited about. FOX should reconsider Bones on Friday and move it to wide open Thursday at 9/8 in place of RAKE. It did well after AI in past (and opposite similar CSI). That’s no longer case as NBC is dead air, CBS has flailing comedies – only GA has remained (relatively) strong compared to its past glories. RAKE will continue to slide and hard.
