The Grammys are one of the most popular awards shows. Last year, they garnered a 10.1 adults 18-49 rating down from a 14.1 in 2012. 2012's numbers were fueled by the memorial for Whitney Houston, who died a day before the telecast. This year, fortunately, there are no recent music industry tragedies, so people will mainly be tuning in for the performances, including a Beyonce and Jay Z duet. So how do you think the awards will fare tonight? Make your prediction!

    Lack of great artists and performers but I’ll be tuning to see Madonna.2013 was the worst thing in music history.

  • NBC Fan

    Grammys-9.9

    Pro Bowl-3.9

    The Bachelor-1.3

    The Simpsons-2.0
    Bobs Burgers-1.6
    Family Guy-2.2
    American Dad-1.8

  • FringeFan

    How do you deduce that 2013 was “the worst thing in music history”?

    Either way it will be huge tonight probably within the 10.0-.3 range, but it is going up against the Pro-Bowl. Although I highly doubt either one shares a similar audience.

  • Matt M.

    Probably around a 10.2… It will tick up but not by much.

    @FringeFan,

    Lorde,Justin T, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Taylor S,nothing new came in 2013 and always the same face we’re used to.What do you think 2013 was not the worst year in music?Since 2008 music is flat,nothing great has came.

  • Douglas from Brazil

    Lorde was new in 2013 but she’s boring as hell.

  • cc

    What was the last show that has gotten above a 9?

  • diana

    thank god revenge doesn’t have to face the grammy’s otherwise i wouldn’ve predicted a 1.0

  • NFL Rules Grammy Drools

    Pro Bowl new format will see Grammy ratings go down for the 2nd year running. Grammys ratings will be in the 9 or less.

    True story!

  • JR35

    The Madonna-Mackelmore & Lewis performance may be epic. It may be what we (well, a lot of people) will be talking about tomorrow.

  • zerg

    @Douglas from Brazil

    Bad year for music? Well Beyoncé,Kanye West,JT,Eminem are just a few who have made great albums. While as new artists we got Macklemore,Lorde,Imagine Dragons and Kendrik Lamar.

  • Androme

    Douglas from Brazil

    I’d rather take boring Lorde over any of the mainstream artists with their loud, over-processed crap any day.

  • Douglas from Brazil

    @zerg, @Androme,

    these last few years has been awful for music in general, it’s almost all the same nothing new or causing great impact.Music is almost dead, those new singers are not impressing me at all.I miss the old 90′s and early 2000′s.

  • thatguy

    Never got why people like Madonna. It makes no sense since those same people hate on Miley Cyrus. What’s the difference? Madonna in her prime was what Miley is now. Unattractive, oversexed, and can’t sing. Is it just that the internet have given people an outlet to express their opinions on artists while in Madonna’s time all you had was tv with very few channels. The media could brainwash people into liking an artist but now people can express themselves.

    Tonight ratings

    The 56th Annual Grammy Awards: 10.8

    Pro Bowl 2014: 4.1

    The Simpsons: 2.2
    Bob’s Burgers: 1.7
    Family Guy: 2.2
    American Dad: 1.9

    The Bachelor: 1.4
    Castle (R): 0.9

  • THE OLD MAN

    I’m thinking about the same, 10.1, though I’ll be watching Downton Abbey & True Detective myself

  • Melanie P.

    @thatguy, people can diss Madonna all they want, but her songs back from the 80′s still sound great to this day and are played alot on the radio, whereas many of these newer artists of today, I don’t know how many of them will still be played on the radio in 20 years much less still be making music. At least Madonna controlled her own career and image without being a “tool” like so many of these Top 40 acts are today. I think 2013 had some good music, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by Miley’s onstage antics and Justin Bieber acting up. It has been years since I have watched an entire Grammys telecast from start to finish. I think with all this media coverage, there is just too much talk about it and you’re tired of it before the show even starts, just like all these other hundreds of awards shows that take place nowdays. Probably will catch the highlights and read who won over the internet.

  • ed

    9.5
    i think it will be lower than last year. lots of gimmicks to create/force buzz.
    Reeks of desperation. miss the old times when its all about the music.

  • Michael1

    Well, the lack of a Candice Glover album release sure didn’t help anything.
