Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2014 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Hello, folks! How are you doing this fine morning? Have you missed me? I surely missed you guys!

After two months living on the african shore, without internet, I’m back! And with a new name, so some won’t mistake me for our favorite Chicago City Fire Department stalker, Dante.

Not much to review today, since Once Upon A Time, Revenge, The Mentalist and The Good Wife didn’t air last night.

Spring is yet to come, but FOX’s animation block is already suffering with huge slides. 7 tenths, Peter Griffin? Ouch! Of course, Family Guy and The Simpsons are safe. As we know, all sunday shows not named American Dad will return to the channel next season. But that might be the last one for our soft-hearted wannabe, Bob’s Burgers.

On a positive note, the Grammy Awards matched last year’s final numbers – which is always something good. Let’s hope it doesn’t slide like FOX’ drawn families in the finals.

If you think music today is good so you have a bad taste.BSB and Britney were better in the past than this young singers nowadays.

  • Carmen

About what I expected for Animation Domination last night. Fox might really have done better by putting on repeats.
The Grammy’s are the type of event that will pull the normal audience away from AD.

  • JacobFish

Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar were the only good things about last nights show.

Pretty safe bet that CBS creamed the competition with the Grammys

Will have to wait for the finals for both CBS & NBC for adjustments

ABC pretty much held its own (save Castle-R)

While FOX was not dominant at all with its toons

  • ryhs

Saying Britney is (or ever was) good music is an all time low for humanity.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

The next episodes of the animated shows is March 9th and all but The Simpsons will be airing in different time slots due to Cosmos being at 9. I think it was a scheduling deal

New schedule (as of March 9th)

    Bob’s Burgers
    American Dad!
    The Simpsons
    Family Guy
    Cosmos: A Space Odyssey

  • Jon

One of the best grammy shows ive seen in years. Glad they left the trash at home and not on the stage. Some of these shows recently have been painful to watch. Very happy for their choice of performers for the most part. Funny how the worst performance of the night was the first one.

  • Really Tired

Glad I recorded to watch hilights (?) later. Watched Shameless and Girls instead. Both good episodes.

Grammys Best …. Uh …… little to report here. I guess Paul McCartney (as always). Everly Bros song was nice.

Grammys Worst ……….. Entire rest of show. Low lights …. Beyonce, Madonna, McLemore, Guy with Hat, Chicago (WTF GUYS?), Robot people, 3 1/2 hours of mostly trash.

  • Douglas from Brazil

Why Clooney wasn’t in the gay wedding at Grammys stage?

And is the Grammys trying to be cool on celebrate same-sex marriage?

Why Willie Nelson didn’t speak about marihuana legalization or at least try to celebrate the legalization in Colorado?

  • Matt M.

The Bachelor did extremely well for being against the Grammys and having the same target demo.

  • Ji (g)

There is a lot of good music out today, but 12 year old kids doesn’t know it exist. So it doesn’t end up on the Grammys.

Thicke trying to sing Chicago songs was the biggest laugh of the night. I guess they wouldn’t let him use his autotune.

  • Douglas from Brazil

It was a time when britney was good but today nothing is good.

  • Jagger Dagger

DVR’d the grammys so I could fast forward past the lame parts.
I think I fast forwarded pretty much through most of the show.
The “meh” grammys are just a reflection of the recent “meh” music out now.

  • Jagger Dagger

…and the award for the most overly corporate-produced auto-tuned lip-synched narcissistic performance goes to…

  • ENTPgal

The Grammy’s were a bit boring this year.

Grammy’s best performance of the night: Imagine Dragons w/ Kendrick Lamar
    Second best performance: Taylor Swift
Worst performance: Katy Perry (way too many props)

**Did anyone else think that Beyoncé’s opening performance was very, very Rihanna-ish? I almost couldn’t believe it was Beyoncé.

  • HalCapone

Wow, slow posting day so far. Could it be the polar vortex brain freeze or TVBTN regulars just not into The Grams in a big way? The music scene today is abysmal. Album sales are in the toilet with individual song downloads destroying the more profitable album sales. I suppose there are some technology parallels to the television industry and DVR/VOD viewing. CBS will be running out of stunts soon unless there is another diva death to exploit just before next year’s broadcast. The “controversial” (read: ratings stunt)big group marriage act near the end felt even more contrived and silly than The Bachelor one on ABC–and that is saying a lot. Paul McCartney looks and sounds like your grandfather’s Beatle which is more sad than inspiring. Madonna’s brief song segment was totally forgettable and her live singing voice was flat and struggling to stay on key.

One of many big problems with The Grammys is the attempt to appeal to a very broad spectrum of music tastes and age groups in the selection of performers and presenters. Half of the time one half of the viewers will be bored silly.

  • Mike

CBS needs to kick 60 Minutes off for one week and air the Grammy’s earlier, 11:45 PM is when it finished, that is ridiculous.

  • David H.

Sad for Katy and Taylor..They deserve to win.
And the Grammy was boring because no Gaga in there..

  • John A

Why bother repeat Castle in that slot why not Revenge to get viewers used to the timeslot change?
