  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 1.1/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/3.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101 and Numbers 102.

No worries about Blacklist. It will pick up another 5 million with the Live +7 numbers come out.

  • RyanCanada

the following’s numbers are dissapointing, mid you the whole show being on sunday last wee was very confusing for alot of people, then back a week later on monday, happy with 2BG, M&M and Mom numbers! hope they keep on the rise.

  • Denis

    YES GO MOM!!!!

  • k:Alex

    The Blacklist is back :)

  • Dan

@Matt M, you know total viewers don’t matter. 2BG beat M&M handily in the demo that counts.

  • Kitsune

Didn’t expect The Following to hold at all.

Nice numbers for HIMYM, but I’m so tired of 2BG already.

Great bump for Intelligence though. These aren’t renewable numbers, but this is better than anything in the slot for a long time.

  • shawn

I think the Following is such a good show! I love it! But of course, most people from the public don’t watch good shows. They continue to watch CRAP

  • grey

I must have missed something in the scheduling. I thought “Castle” was going to be new last night. Any who ….

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

The first episode with the Mother saw an .8 point jump. Another episode just about the Mother saw a .7 jump. The Mother = Ratings

  • Lisa

LOL at the posters who act superior to viewers who like The Following. I bet you like a lot of stuff that many others would consider crap, so the high-and-mighty attitude is a bit much.

Nice numbers for The Blacklist. Maybe it can hold down Thursday at 11 next season. Or try to, anyway. (I’d like a new slot for Parenthood, which I hope returns.)

  • Dan

@Patrick, could be, or could it also be last night was show 200 for HIMYM?

  • tedtalks

The Following is stretching a movie premise into a series and a bad idea. poor Kevin Bacon

  • baja7475

If DVR+7 adds 4 to 5 million for the following, it will be in line like last years average total viewers.

  • Black is Power

    So happy for HIMYM
Wish a 4.0 or higher for the series finale

  • Carl

Looks like fans of torture porn have jumped from Following to Blacklist.

  • Kerith

The Following promised to fix their dumbs FBI in an attempt to make them seem at least half as competent as Hardy, but as of last night Hardy’s the dumbass now that the FBI isn’t a joke. Officially done with the show. HIMYM was excellent last night, best episode since season 7’s “Symphony of Illumination” and The Blacklist was good as well.

Did NOT expect that drop fr The Following… Especially a series low. Not good… Hopefully it’ll remain steady when it has a better lead in..

  • Ryan T

So great for HIMYM and for a superb episode to boot. I know after next week, they’re off because of the Olympics, but I think the run of 6 straight to the series finale will give the show great momentum for some high ratings.

  • Nick.

Hm, I guess this proves that getting a huge lead-in in the premiere (a big trend among all networks) doesn’t matter much to a show’s ratings afterwards. Apparently everyone who checked out The Following last sunday were just bored and wanted something to pass the time.

I’m hoping that between The Following/Almost Human/Rake which are competing for the drama renewal, AH comes first, then maybe Rake gets a second which would be good. Didn’t like the Following much. Too empty for me.

  • Lisa

@Kerith, Hardy has ALWAYS been a dumbass. That didn’t just start last night. I still enjoy the show, though.
