Outstanding for Supernatural. And still good for The Originals especially against Pretty Little Liars
And again FOX should not be removing Dads from the schedule. It’s showing potential for growth.

Amazing for SPN. Pedowitz loves it, the numbers are incredible for a 9-year CW show…it’s going to end when Jared and Jensen are done and not a minute earlier.

  • Bluebells

Supernatural is one hell of a lucky CW show. Its subpar episode gives it a season high while shows like Reign and TTP struggle to give better episodes than the next and their rating poorly, going down gradually. Its really funny to me(unlucky shows maybe). Anyway, I personally think that last week’s supernatural episode deserved better ratings. That had to be one of if not the best episode of the season.

  • joy

    Bluebells,Couldn’t agree with you more!!

  • david

Wow! great to see season highs for Spn last night. The Originals did good too and went up in total viewers too and Supernatural down just a tad in total viewers.

  • Eire

The Originals is doing extremely well for the CW. The show has been very good in it’s first season. Supernatural’s ratings are impressive.

  • Carl

@Bluebells, I agree that this wasn’t a good episode. As for luck, well partially – it wouldn’t have gotten 1.2 without the SOTU, and I am pretty sure it will drop to 1.0 or .9 this coming week. But TTP and Reign have their chances, especially TTP, which is in the spot SPN was in last season and which it almost always got .7-1.1 in.

SPN’s worked very hard to even be on the air at this point. They were thrown to the wolves by Dawn Ostroff.

2 seasons ago Supernatural got as low as a .6, it has since doubled its rating. I know Friday and Tuesday move makes it less impressive, but did you see CW Tuesday last year? Emily Owens and Cult ratings were almost as bad as CW Friday ratings. It will never get back to the low 2’s it did after Gilmore Girl, but it has had quite the turnaround!

“and I am pretty sure it will drop to 1.0 or .9 this coming week”

Not sure how you can make that prediction. 8 of the 12 episodes this season have been 1.1 or 1.2.

So The Originals tied Pll. I see the war between the two lasting a while….

  • Laina

Go SPN!! It wasn’t my fave episode last night but after 3 solid episodes in a row (in my opinion) I expected a subpar episode to show up anytime. I did like seeing Garth again though.

  • +1

I haven never watched TVD or SPN before but when I gave up on Shield I decided to give the ol’ CW a try and I was surprised at how much I loved both shows. Anyway, I feel like The Originals is way better than SPN. :)

  • Laina

Last night’s SPN was far from it’s best. If you ever get a chance watch it from the beginning. It’s worth it! ;)

  • Percysowner

I agree last nights episode was subpar. For some reason, Supernatural has had less than good episodes going against SOTU. Route 666 in season one and now Sharp Teeth. But a good rating is a good rating.

  • JJA

Last night’s episode of Supernatural was perfectly decent. It was hardly “subpar” as some are saying.

If you want a “subpar” episode of Supernatural, look at “Slumber Party,” “Dog Dean Afternoon” and/or practically ANY episode of season 7. Those were subpar!! Last night’s episode was fine by comparison.

  • Networkman

FOX has to consider DADS for renewal. In my opinion, it is a bubble show. It has had the hard task of leading off the night, going against NCIS and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And it most likely would share an audience with them to considering DADS target audience would be males. For this show to pull in close to 4 million viewers and maintain 1.5 demo is impressive. NBC would love for their comedies to garner these numbers consistently. I would really put it on after Family Guy. The two should share and audience together. FOX should give it a full 22 episode season placing the final 3 episodes after Family Guy to see how it performs.

  • JJA

Also, I do have to admit, Supernatural has been a bit lucky in terms of ratings. Season 9 has NOT been as good as season 8 was, yet its ratings are stronger.

Arrow, by comparison, has taken a dip in quality this year, and the ratings reflect this.

Also, both The Originals and Reign have been better that Supernatural, as was Nikita’s final 6 episodes. Yet, Supernatural is doing better than all these shows.

My guess is that Supernatural remains strong due to goodwill from past seasons, as well as the UNDER-rated “star quality” of its two leads.

  • Quin

    Yay awesome go Supernatural! :)

  • AllOfHerTw!st

    Major Bluebells? ;-)

    Go B99!

  • Bluebells

Reign and the originals are awesome. Seriously impressed by both shows so far. The CW has really come a long way from those Gossip girly type shows.
