FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK, THE “CBS EVENING NEWS” POSTS ITS BEST VIEWER PERFORMANCE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2006 WHILE MATCHING LAST WEEK’S ADULTS 25-54 PERFORMANCE, THE BEST SINCE JANUARY 2012
The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted year-to-year gains in adults 25-54 (+6%, 1.9/06 from 1.8/06) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – as well as double-digit percentage growth in viewers (+14%, 8.52m from 7.47m) and households (+10%, 5.5/10 from 5.0/09) for the week ending Feb. 7, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.
The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY gained +1.05m viewers compared to the same week last year.
For the second straight week, the CBS EVENING NEWS posted its best viewer performance in more than seven years (since the week ending Sept. 8, 2006) while matching last week’s adults 25-54 performance, the best since the week ending Jan. 20, 2012.
Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +7% in viewers (7.25m from 6.79m) compared to last year.
