SUPERCROSS

STEWART BACK IN THE HUNT; REED MAY RIDE DESPITE MULTIPLE INJURIES

·         Network/When: FOX Sports 2, Saturday, Feb. 15 (8:30 PM ET, LIVE); replays on FOX Sports 1, Sunday, Feb. 16 (12:00 AM ET)

·         Talent: Ralph Sheheen, Jeff Emig, Ricky Carmichael and Jenny Taft

  • This Week: Monster Energy Supercross heads east after six races in California and Arizona. James Stewart’s win in San Diego marks four different winners in the series’ first six events. “James Stewart is a smart rider,” Ralph Sheheen said. “He knows each rider is going to have a bad day somewhere along the road to Vegas and the championship. James had his at the season opener. (Chad) Reed had his this past weekend in San Diego. Since that night in Anaheim, Stewart has racked up two wins and is now fourth in the points. If he keeps up this pace and the others do have their issues, Stewart will be right in the thick of the title fight when we roll into Vegas.” Don’t expect the San Diego fall that resulted in multiple injuries -- reportedly a broken scapula, collarbone and T1 vertebrae -- to keep Reed off the starting line this weekend. “Pay no attention to the doctors and the X-Rays,” Sheheen added. “Chad is not your average athlete. His level of determination and ability to block out pain is unlike anything I have ever seen. I would not be surprised at all to see Chad in the starting gate Saturday night in Dallas. He knows it's a brutal and very long season. If he can gut it out, get some points and then have another week to heal even more, he knows he is still in this championship.”

This week also marks the opening of the 250 East Championship.

SIX-TIME SPRINT CUP SERIES CHAMP JIMMIE JOHNSON GOES 1-ON-1 – Six-time and defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson goes 1-on-1 with FOX Sports’ Curt Menefee on Friday, Feb. 14 (7:30 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1 in a wide-ranging, half-hour interview discussing a variety topics, including his place in NASCAR history and willingness to let his daughter drive a racecar. Johnson also shared this with Menefee regarding one of his biggest regrets:

“Richard (Petty) was too far removed for me to say that I had a chance to drive with him on the track,” Johnson told FOX Sports 1. “But Dale (Earnhardt), that could have happened, and I so regret that I'll never have that chance to honestly get spun out or crashed by him. That opportunity will never be there for me.”
