“Super Social Saturday” Celebrates Fan Experience During Coverage of College Hoops on CBS, CBS Sports Network and CBSSports.com and Golf on CBS
CBS Sports celebrates the fan experience on Saturday, Feb. 22 with “Super Social Saturday,” a social media initiative that incorporates fan tweets, pictures and interactions throughout the day’s coverage of college basketball on CBS, CBS Sports Network and CBSSports.com, and Golf on CBS. CBS Sports is encouraging fans to use the hashtag #CBSSuperSocial for all social activity relating to CBS Sports programming on Saturday.
CBS Sports announcers and CBSSports.com writers, including lead college basketball analyst Greg Anthony (@GregAnthony50), lead studio analyst Clark Kellogg (@PacerCK), Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow), Seth Davis (@SethDavisHoops), Steve Lappas (@STLappas), Gary Parrish (@GaryParrishCBS), and on-course golf reporter Peter Kostis (@PeterJKostis), will interact with fans on Twitter throughout the day, answering questions on-air and providing commentary from @GOLFonCBS and @HOOPSonCBS, as well as their individual accounts.
The best fan pictures, tweets and posts will be featured on-air during studio and event programming on Saturday, which includes coverage of the PGA TOUR’s WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS: ACCENTURE MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP (2:00 PM, ET), as well as six college basketball games across the two networks: regional coverage on CBS of *No. 11-ranked Louisville at No. 7-ranked Cincinnati and No. 2-ranked Florida at Ole Miss (12:00 NOON, ET); and CBS Sports Network’s coverage of Marquette at DePaul (2:00 PM, ET), La Salle at Richmond (4:00 PM, ET), UTEP at Southern Miss (6:00 PM, ET) and UNLV at Boise State (8:00 PM, ET).
In addition, notable alumni from competing schools will take over @HOOPSonCBS to answer fan questions and live tweet analysis during the games. Participating alumni include CBS Sports’ Greg Anthony, a UNLV alum (#AskGreg), CBS Sports college basketball analyst and La Salle alum Bill Raftery (#AskRaf), Florida alum Al Horford (#AskHorford), Marquette alum Steve Novak (#AskNovak) and Southern Miss alum Clarence Weatherspoon (#AskSpoon).
Fans also can vote for the nation’s Top Freshman on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #TopFrosh along with their vote. Candidates include Aaron Gordon (Arizona), Jabari Parker (Duke), Andrew Wiggins (Kansas), Julius Randle (Kentucky), Joel Embiid (Kansas) and Tyler Ennis (Syracuse).
CBSSports.com writers Gregg Doyel and Gary Parrish also will provide on-site, behind-the-scenes coverage from Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati for Louisville-Cincinnati (Doyel) and from Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. for Syracuse–Duke (Parrish).
During CBS Sports’ coverage of the WGC: ACCENTURE MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP, on-course reporter Peter Kostis will answer fan questions on the broadcast and on Twitter, from the @GOLFonCBS account, using the hashtag #AskKostis. He will break down swings, provide tips to help improve a specific element of the game, as well as answer questions about that day’s play.
