“FACE THE NATION” POSTS 2.95 MILLION VIEWERS ON FEB. 23
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION posted a 2.1/05 with 2.95m viewers and 0.7/03 in adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Feb. 23. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION, season-to-date, is up +1% in viewers (3.29m from 3.25m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in these measures among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
The Feb. 23 broadcast of FACE THE NATION started with an update from CBS News’ Holly Williams on the situation in Ukraine and featured interviews with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Governors Bobby Jindal (R-LA) and Martin O’Malley (D-MD). Bob Schieffer hosted a panel featuring Dan Balz of The Washington Post, Jonathan Martin of The New York Times, Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report, and CBS News’ Political Director John Dickerson. Finally, FACE THE NATION had TIME’s Bobby Ghosh and CBS News State Department correspondent Margaret Brennan on to discuss the unrest in Ukraine and the recent arrest of a Mexican drug kingpin.
