LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS’ MAKES HUGE PRESENCE AT SXSW
Meyers and Producer Mike Shoemaker to Appear on Olivia Munn-Moderated Panel While Series Branding Will Be Widespread
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Feb. 28, 2014 — NBC will present an “Inside Late Night with Seth Meyers” panel at the upcoming SXSW Conference and Festival, as well as offer fun activities to promote the launch of the new late-night series.
The annual SXSW Conference and Festival is presented March 7-16 in Austin, Texas.
The “Inside Late Night with Seth Meyers” convergence panel is set for Saturday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Ballroom 18ABCD of the Austin Convention Center. In addition to Meyers, “Late Night” producer Mike Shoemaker will also appear on the panel.
The panel will be moderated by actress Olivia Munn, co-star of HBO’s drama “The Newsroom.”
In addition to the panel, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” will have a strong presence at SXSW and throughout downtown Austin. The show is partnering with Danny Meyer’s famed Shake Shack for a late night food truck that will serve free hamburgers and fries for seven nights (March 8-14) of the festival from 8 p.m.-1 a.m.
The truck will be situated March 8-10 at 6th Street and Red River; and March 11-14 at 6th Street between Brushy and San Marcos.
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” has partnered with SXSW’s official bike share program, SX Cycles, and will provide free bicycles for attendees March 7-15 from 10 a.m.-midnight. The bike rental location (Cesar Chavez and Red River) will provide a place to relax and watch “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
The official SXSW Comedy Opening Party will be sponsored by “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” Scheduled for March 8 from 10:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m., the party will be held at Buffalo Billiards (201 E. 6th St., between San Jacinto and Brazos) and be open to festival registrants. Attendees will be able to take a green screen photo sitting across the desk from Seth on the set of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Finally, fans can tweet their best SXSW joke or photo using the hashtag #SethXSW. The winning tweet will receive a pair of tickets to Late Night with Seth Meyers and a special digital shout-out from Seth.
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” has dominated the ratings competition during its premiere week, debuting Monday, Feb. 24 with a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. Those are the top results for a “Late Night” telecast since January 2005.
