ABC Wins 3rd Straight Friday with 'Shark Tank' and '20/20' tied as the #1 TV Show

ABC Friday Prime (8-11pm – 6.3 million and 1.6/6 in AD18-49):  ABC won on Friday among Adults 18-49 (1.6/6) for the 3rd week in a row, beating all-original lineups on CBS by 14% (1.4/5), NBC by 33% (1.2/4) and Fox by 220% (0.5/2).  In fact, the Network led its 7th consecutive non-Olympic Friday.

 

·         ABC’s Shark Tank (1.9/7) and 20/20 (1.9/6) tied as the #1 TV show on Friday in Adults 18-49.   ABC’s 20/20 matched a season high in Adults 18-49 to equal a nearly 2-year high (since 3/30/12).  It was also once again the night’s #1 newsmagazine, beating out NBC’s Dateline in Total Viewers and key Adults (AD18-49/AD25-54).

 

Please Note: ABC’s Friday lineup was pre-empted for local high school and college sports coverage in 3.6% of the U.S.

 

Last Man Standing-R (8-8:30pm – 4.9 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49): At 8pm, ABC’s repeat Last Man Standing beat Fox’s time-period premiere of Rake by 60% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.5/2).

 

The Neighbors (8:30-9pm – 3.9 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49): Building on its lead-in (+13%) in the 8:30pm half-hour, ABC’s The Neighbors finished as the #1 comedy of the night in Adults 18-49, outdelivering Fox’s Enlisted by 50% (0.6/2 at 9pm) and Raising Hope by 80% (0.5/2 at 9:30pm).

 

Shark Tank (9-10pm – 7.4 million and 1.9/7 in AD18-49): More than doubling its lead-in at 9pm (+122%) in Adults 18-49, ABC’s Shark Tank outdelivered its closest competition in the hour by 19% (1.9/7 vs. 1.6/5 – NBC’s Grimm).  Season to date, Shark Tank is up double digits in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+10%) over the same point last year, tracking as the series’ best-ever season.

 

20/20 (10-11pm – 7.1 million and 1.9/6 in AD18-49): For the 3rd week in row, ABC’s 20/20 dominated the 10 o’clock hour in Adults 18-49 (1.9/6), beating CBS’ Blue Bloods by 27% (1.5/5) and NBC’s Hannibal by 122% (0.9/3).  The ABC newsmagazine also won the hour for the 3rd straight week in the key Adult 25-54 news demo20/20 went inside the very dark and very real world of “murder for hire.” 20/20 was up week to week by  6% in Adults 18-49 to equal its highest rating in nearly 2 years – since 3/30/12. Up year to year in Total Viewers (+20%), Adults 18-49 (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%), 20/20 is on track to deliver its most-watched season in 4 years – since the 2009-10 season.
