FOX News Channel Ranks As Week’s Number 1 Cable Network in Primetime Total Viewers
FOX News Channel #1 in Prime Time In Basic Cable
For the week of March 10-16, 2014 FOX News Channel was the #1 cable network in primetime in total viewers surpassing USA (number 2) and The History Channel (number 3) according to Nielsen data. The last time FNC was number 1 in cable in primetime was the week of the State of the Union: (January 27/14-2February 2, 2014) and before that, it was the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013.
FOX News outpaced its chief competitors, CNN and MSNBC, by large margins. In total day, FNC ranked third, CNN ranked 18th and MSNBC ranked 28th . Additionally, FNC was the only cable news network to have telecasts in the top 50 for basic cable last week, with telecasts of The Kelly File and The O’Reilly Factor included.
