After a seven year absence, Preston Burke, played by Isaiah Washington, is returning to Grey's Anatomy tonight. ABC is pulling out all the stops to promote the event. The network is rerunning the ancient episode in which Burke left Cristina at the altar at 8PM. Since Cristina is leaving at the end of the season, there's actually a chance that they could get back together, or at least renew their professional relationship if Cristina decides to become a surgeon at the hospital where he works. There is even added intrigue because Burke was written off due to Washington's off-screen issues with the cast and crew. Will all the hype pay off?
Last week, Grey's Anatomy earned a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, down from a 2.6 the prior week. The season premiere garnered a 3.4. (Fun fact: it was beaten head-to-head by the premiere of The Crazy Ones, which earned a 3.9.) So how do you think Grey's Anatomy will fare tonight? Make your prediction, then speculate in the comments about Burke's return, whether the recently fired Columbus Short will make a similar return appearance on Scandal someday, or whether he'll end up on The 100 with Washington and another formal Scandal star, Henry Ian Cusick.
