Reality, Sports & Scripted to Drive Network Featuring Gloria Trevi Reality Series, NASCAR, FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games Announced

 

 

NEW YORK, NY – May 13, 2014 - mun2, the Hispanic entertainment cable network, unveiled its expanded programming lineup for 2014-2015 tonight at its upfront sales presentations. Illustrating the programs aimed at capturing the Hispanic audience and the multi-platform Hispanic millennial, Joe Uva, Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises and Content, NBCUniversal, and Rubén Mendiola, President, mun2, announced the network’s upcoming original programming grid and series in development. Coming to the network will be the Hispanic celebrity reality series featuring international Latin music superstar Gloria Trevi, as well international level sports including the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series, FIFA World Cup and the 2016 games of the Summer XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro.

 

Rolled out to advertisers was a new programming strategy fueled by an adrenaline-filled and energizing mix of shows, including an original scripted series created by leading producer of Spanish language content, Hispanic celebrity reality, premium sports and blockbuster movies, all offered across multiple platforms and elevating the Hispanic audience experience.

“Futbol Estelar: Barclays Premiere League”:

 

“The Barclays Premiere League on mun2 presented by Deportes Telemundo” continues with the August kickoff to a highly-anticipated new season with 2013/2014 Premiere League Champions Manchester City, the network will offer 100 matches including key week-day matches throughout the 2014/2015 season. The leading international soccer league brought double-digit growth to the network in 2013 and 2014 as The League expands its Hispanic fan base. Internationally acclaimed Deportes Telemundo sportscasters Andrés Cantor, Sammy Sadovnik and Manuel Sol return for the new season.

 

“La NASCAR en mun2”:

 

mun2 becomes the Spanish language home to NASCAR in February 2015 with the kick-off of the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series. This popular NASCAR series first aired on the network live, from the Phoenix International Raceway, this past February, and featured over 25 drivers representing a dozen Mexican states vying for the series championship. The series will continue the excitement and thrills of this adrenaline-inducing sport from the U.S. and Mexico.

 

“FIFA World Cup 2015-2022”:

 

The most prestigious international soccer tournaments are coming to mun2.  Featuring live coverage of exclusive matches in Spanish of the Men’s Under 20 World Cup from New Zealand, the Women’s World Cup from Canada, the Men’s Under 17 World Cup from Chile and the Beach Soccer World Cup from Portugal.  Deportes Telemundo’s Emmy Award winning team will provide all of the action, led by Andres Cantor, Sammy Sadovnik, Manuel Sol and soccer legend, Carlos Hermosillo.

 

“The Games of the 2016 XXXI Olympiad”:

 

The Games of the 2016 XXXI Olympiad come to mun2 for the first time with event coverage and live games coverage through its partnership with NBC Sports and Deportes Telemundo. Continuing in its tradition of partnering with Deportes Telemundo in presenting the most engaging stories and coverage of the Olympic Games.

“Maria Entre Todos Los Muertos”– Action/Drama, scripted
