Saturday’s broadcast, “A Daughter, A Mortgage and Two Murders,” featured Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS’ report on the mystery behind the murder of an Albuquerque, N.M., couple and the two surprising suspects that emerged during the investigation – the couple’s daughter and a loan processor who did some work for the victims. 48 HOURS covered the case for eight years, including the trial of Ron Santiago, who had processed a loan for the couple and was charged with their murders. Santiago vowed he had nothing to do with the murders, and a jury agreed. 48 HOURS was there when the jury decided Santiago’s fate.
48 HOURS: “A Daughter, a Mortgage and Two Murders” is produced by Paul LaRosa and Allen Alter. Leslie Neigher is the associate producer. Bruce Spiegel, Atticus Brady and Richard Barber are the editors. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
