“THE TALK” CELEBRATES “THE 41st ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY® AWARDS” ON MONDAY, JUNE 23
“The Talk’s” Annual Daytime Emmy “After-Party” Will Include Appearances by Many of the Night’s Biggest Winners
CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show THE TALK will salute “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards” with a special show dedicated to daytime television’s biggest night, Monday, June 23, 2014 (2:00 PM, ET/1:00 PM, PT), on the CBS Television Network. THE TALK hosts, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood, along with guest co-host Marie Osmond, will be joined live in-studio by some of the night’s biggest winners for a post-Emmy celebration. This year marks the third time THE TALK has paid tribute to Daytime Emmy winners from across the daypart by inviting them to appear live on the show the following day. Guest names to be announced following the Daytime Emmy Awards early Monday morning, June 23.
Also on Monday, chef Curtis Stone will serve up a romantic dinner on THE TALK as a tribute to daytime drama’s hottest couples.
CBS’s THE TALK, recently nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show-Entertainment and Outstanding Talk Show Host, features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.
CBS Daytime has been #1 in the daypart for 27 consecutive years, featuring a balance of dramas, game shows and talk. Recently, CBS led the 2014 Daytime Emmy Nominations with 60 nods, more than any other network. The #1 daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND, received 26 nominations, more than any other show. In addition, AND THE BEAUTIFUL received 18 nominations, LET’S MAKE A DEAL received three and network television’s longest-running game show THE PRICE IS RIGHT received two nominations.
