CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD heads to the coastline of Connecticut for its annual summer at the shore-themed edition to be broadcast July 13, 2014 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
Lee Cowan anchors the broadcast from the former home of Hollywood star Katharine Hepburn in Old Saybrook, Conn. The summer-themed broadcast features Cowan’s piece on a stunning lightshow of fireflies in Tennessee, and his look back at Hepburn’s legendary acting career.
Also on the broadcast, Ben Tracy talks with singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, whose songs hit songs such as “I’m Yours” and “The Remedy” have become a part of the soundtrack of our summers. Don Dahler takes viewers to Maine, where a group of explorers are retracing an epic 350-mile journey of Henry David Thoreau. Mark Phillips profiles actress Kiera Knightley, who has starred in several summer blockbusters and now is in the romantic comedy “Begin Again.”
Nancy Giles explores a summer staple in a segment on the history and future of ice cream trucks. Meanwhile, Mo Rocca takes a look at a summer classic – the convertible. Finally, Martha Teichner reports on jellyfish, one of the most fascinating pests of summer. And Bill Geist sings the praises of Little League baseball on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.
