The deciding game in the NBA’s Western Conference Finals set a ratings record for TNT on Monday.

Game 7 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder — a 96-86 win by the defending champion Warriors — drew an average of 15.9 million viewers. That’s the most-watched show in TNT’s history (it’s been around since 1988) and the biggest audience ever for an NBA game on cable.

The game sets up a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals between Golden State and the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers. That series averaged 19.94 million viewers, the best for an NBA Finals since 1998.

The Finals begin Thursday on ABC. Full Monday cable ratings will be out Wednesday.
